Anna Calvi is also back. It's quite an eclectic lineup for the day for sure, but I don't think it's a mistake. Saw Marr twice this year (festival and own show) and had a great time, so no complaints from me if he returns. Just wonder where he'd play though; west arena headliner?

Weren't Bicep and Forest Swords rumoured for the Kraftwerk day? Much more of a fit than Johnny Marr.

It seems like they couldn't decide between a theme of experimental rock and experimental electronic so they combined both of them for the day and added Johnny Marr in for some reason.

Although I was baffled when I first saw the lineup, I actually think it makes a lot of sense in terms of demographic and who's going to buy a ticket to see Kraftwerk or want a day out from it.

It'd definitely be weighted more towards an older demographic who'd absolutely be into Anna Calvi/Kim Gordon/Marr/The Orb/stuff that gets played on 6Music - but not necessarily some of the more banging trendier electronic stuff that was rumoured.

Looks like it will be my first APE day since Nick Cave! I'm not even particularly old but I think the line-up is exactly my "demographic". Only down-side is that I'm not sure I can make it to the afternoon but I'd like to see Kim Gordon...

Its strong but a bit messy in darting between genres IMO. Still, it does look pretty well put together. Although I will say I saw both Marr & Calvi last year on Strokes day so I'm a tiny bit surprised both are back so soon.

Second Friday seemed always the younger crowd kinda day (Catfish, BMTH) but not this year obvs with Kraftwerk, nonetheless a cracking day!

I was a bit disappointed that the killers didn't keep the pet shop boys on stage with Marr at Glastonbury and do an electronic tune

Wow! I'm delighted with that announcement. Kraftwerk and Iggy were my two iconic must-sees looking ahead to the next festival season, so to have them on one day is perfect.

What were people expecting though? Kraftwerk, Neu! and Tangerine Dream?

Would say this is a strong lineup for those who respect the classics across genres and other acts strongly inspired by them.
