Best way to Glastonbury town on Monday after festival?

What's the best way to get to Glastonbury town on the Monday following the festival? We are coming from California for the first time and would like to rest/do laundry/see the town before carrying on with the rest of our trip. We plan on taking the National Express coach one-way from Bristol to the festival on the Wednesday and would like to get to Glastonbury town on the following Monday by midday or so. Any suggestions?

From what I've gathered there is the 669 operated by FromeBus that picks up in Pilton and travels to Glastonbury town along the A361. However I have no clue how this will be affected by departing traffic. Alternatively per Google Maps, it seems we could take the shuttle to Castle Cary Station and then take a couple buses. Any input is appreciated as we are hoping to book a room in Glastonbury town ASAP, but only if this is feasible.

There's a direct shuttle service from the Festival Coach Station to Glastonbury Town Centre. Might end up costing a quid or two more, but much easier than messing around with scheduled public transport. It says it's hourly, but that'll be approximate - aim to arrive at the bus station for about 8am or shortly after and you'll be in Glastonbury Town with plenty time to spare. Much later than that and the congestion (both on the roads and possibly at the Coach Station itself) will start to hit.

Castle Cary is the wrong direction for Glastonbury town. To help the exit, all traffic is basically sent outwards in all directions at once with no turning round ability anywhere.

So you need to exit on the East or North East side of festival for the town.

Try hitching from you camping neighbours or just wander the orange car park on Monday.

It'll he easy.  I often take hitchers northwards.

Enjoy.

Ditto on this.

This is exactly what we did in 2017 and totally beats having to queue and bus to any major city on the monday.
