Toughest clash choices

Arctic Monkeys on Pyramid vs Chic & Nile Rogers on West Holts - opted for the latter, despite ALL of my group going to AM making it a solo effort. Was a tough one for me as it was my first Glasto, am a big fan of AM and hadn't seen them (still haven't) live before. No regrets whatsoever. What a party that was. Set of the weekend and a great way to break my Glasto cherry! The performance also got a great write up in the Guardian too:

For all the '09 Blur/Prodigy mentions on here, I was actually torn btw Blur and Echo & The Funnymen playing 'Ocean Rain' in full. went with Blur.

I went to Echo & the Bunnymen. ‘Ocean Rain’ is one of my favourite albums of all time. Loved it.

Robert Plant & Jack White v Manics / Pixies - Chose Plant & White.

Radiohead vs Flaming Lips - Chose The Flamping Lips

Spot on this. I had a plan for that Saturday so I could leg it from manics to plant then back for pixies. Great run of acts but missed a bit of plant.

whoever booked flaming lips against radiohead needs sorting out. Watched Radiohead who were excellent but was gutted to miss flaming lips.

Prodigy vs Blur.

Chose Prodigy as I had tickets to see Blur in Hyde Park a few days later.

It was the wrong choice.

We had the exact same dilemma but elected to see Blur twice in 4 days. It was totes worth it.

The Sunday of 2016 was particularly brutal - we had basically all been standing up for 5 days, the mud was that horrible thick slimy mud. I wanted to go see Earth, Wind & Fire, hubby wanted to see LCD Soundsystem. After Beck subheadlinibg the Pyramid we found ourselves about 15 people from the front and stood on solid ground. We chose not to move and stayed to watch Coldplay.

I don’t regret it.

Was heartbroken when I found out MF DOOM had played a Reading fest I was at, a couple of years before I got into him

I was there & saw him. The entire alternative stage was filled with weed smoke, think I got high just being there. It was a fab performance from what I remember. I was quite close to Tyler the Creator who was enjoying the set it in the audience.

Ani DiFranco (Acoustic) vs Justice (West Holts), 2017.

This was my worst clash. She was a must see prior to her scheduling and I bloody love Justice. On paper she won, and I dutifully arrived at the acoustic stage excited to see her, but something didn’t feel right. The crowd were older with many sitting around on chairs. The vibe just wasn’t right for a Sunday night. I wanted my final major Sunday night act to be celebratory and upbeat, so after loitering around trying to figure out what to do, I made my way to WH and accepted that I’d miss out on someone I’d always hoped to see at Glastonbury.

Justice were amazing. I don’t regret my choice, but it was a horrible one to have to make.
