Any chance of Iggy Pop being the rock slot?

Think he’s been announced for an American(?) fest over Glastonbury weekend now unfortunately. Also according to the owner of this site there isn’t gonna be a rock slot this year, although still hoping that’s gonna be incorrect.

Admittedly I don't dig on this chat about "slots" either. To my decrepit mind there are 4 stagetimes of note on the Pyramid each year. 3 x headliner and Sunday evening sop to the blanket & brexit brigade. 'Sit.

It can hardly be a bad thing can it ya fuckin fun sponge

I know where the rumour came from, and hopefully it's good.

Don't know details for where they'll play tho.

Hopefully, never seen Placebo before so they'd probably shoot to top of my list if it turns out to be true.

it';s not happening this year after all - as told to Scottie by Nick Dewey a couple of weeks ago.

Nick also said there was a big act lined up already for next year.

Fair play, must've missed that. Apologies

I’m still amazed that a festival the size of Glastonbury, with something like 100 stages, ignores a major genre like heavy rock/metal/punk so much that there is a discussion about a ‘Friday afternoon rock slot’ or excitement about the recently created Earache/Scum stage.

I realise that apparently ‘rock is dead’ and all that but it’s been like this for years.

Rock is way behind Rap,pop, indie, dance etc in popularity but in my opinion it is still way under represented in Glastonbury, which seems to be plentiful and varied in just about every other genre in the entire world irrespective of how obscure.

So is this a thing or not?!!? I can't tell what she was on about from the line up....

It was confirmed on here a while ago that it's not on for this year but someone big has been booked for 2020.
