22.5k copies sold in the charts update so will likely be pushing 30k by the week's end. Considering that round 30 would put them somewhere between Biffy and The 1975, that's unbelievable.

edit: I realise that a band like The 1975 accrue a lot of streams whereas Idles sell 3 different copies of the same vinyl to your dad but still and all.

Huge achievement though. Better first week sales than recent ones by Biffy, Foals, The Strokes, and getting to this point on an independent label too. Amazing scenes.

Love the album personally. Reigns is the one.

Reigns passed me by on first listen but yeah, I'm proper into it now. The lyrics don't ruin it, the chorus is good and they've got the chaotic dark punk thing going on like a Viagra Boys cut. Danke is good too - a bit wasted at the end of the record however. Compared, I think Side A is gonna probably remain in good nick on the vinyl I got.

Given Ultra Mono a few listens and now I’m ready to deliver my expert opinion...

It’s alright, not as good as the first two but still decent. Model Village and Carcinogenic the standouts for me.

Oui they are a band on the up. I do think they’ve been booked for 2021 covering one of the bigger slots. Other sub still makes a lot of sense to me.

more talk. Also, listened to the recently released Adam Buxton podcast with Sleafod Mods recorded back 2019, they called Idles a middle class band.  I'd say they both have a similar demographic

They do know that using Girl Band doesn't count as female support ahah.

Great choices though. Girl Band, Porridge Radio and IDLES on the same bill is a guaranteed great night. Saw Girl Band the night before IDLES a few years ago and was chatting to Joe about them, he was waxing lyrical about them then so must be buzzin they've got big enough to have them support.
