I really need someone to sort me out a playlist that cherry picks the best dozen or so Weezer tracks from the past 15 years or so. Unless there genuinely aren't any.

Just the Happy Days one and the Muppet one.

The last 15 years..... there probably isnt that much to shout about.

They are not a band I listen to that much any more, but caught them live again a couple of years ago & it was great. Something like "back to the shack" - I enjoyed it live, but that album isnt the best & Im not too keen on record.

New Drenge album was really enjoyable, I'd probably say Bonfire is the standout track but not sure that's because I've listened to it loads.

Standard quality output from Sleafords, highlights for me were Kebab Spider, Discourse and Firewall. When You Came Up to Me was a nice change of pace also.

What else is out today?

Haven't had chance to listen to much yet.   Very keen to hear Sleaford Mods and Drenge.

Also out today:

Yola - soul/country produced by Dan from Black Keys.

Julia Jacklin - Australian singer/songwriter, nice indie pop stuff.

Giggs - British grime/hip hop

Roses Gabor - Sampha-esque R&B

Imperial Wax have dropped their first single and it's much stronger than I was expecting. Basically the last (and longest serving) musicians from The Fall, with a new front man acquired. Similar sort of rockabilly psych stuff you'd expect without the edge Mark provided, I've played it through a few times and really like it, good luck to them. Considering how few ex-Fall members have gone on to a further career in music I hope it works out for them, they sound more exciting than Brix and the Extricated as well (no offence Steve).

Enjoying new Drenge and also discovered Woahnows album which is really good and well worth checking out.

I have recently discovered a Scandinavian band called Communions who have an e.p out. Not sure when it came out exactly but it was released this year. Good, especially if you like 80's influenced music in the style of White Lies.

Yeah enjoying this one. Always worth listening to anything Auerbach produces too.

I tried it. Gave it a listen last night and again this morning. S'alright, but a pretty dull. Too in love with the past and the idea of being classy/classic to be anything other than a bit boring and slightly worthy.

Have to admit I found the same myself after 5 or 6 tunes. Nice voice and all though.
