After yesterday's Bilbao BBK announcement disappointed and Way Out West still haven't announced, Doctor has grabbed my attention. The location looks nice, too. Anyone know how difficult it is to get to from the UK?

It's difficult to get to from Spain, by the looks of it. 

In a rural village down some valley in the Pyrenees. No train station anywhere near it, one road...

If they're not linked up with one of the majors I think they're probably going to struggle for major names similar to that old poster, and the two names above suggests that.

yeah, but that's listing stuff from over 20 years ago. Things have changed a LOT in the music biz since then, which makes it much harder for the independents to compete with the big boys.

I'm sure Dr Music will get plenty of decent acts - the first two prove that. I'm less sure they're going to be getting acts of the size that Bowie and Blur were back in '96.

Tho the way they're setting up shop makes me wonder if they'll book any bands that weren't around in '96.

Set to launch in 2019 (exact details are TBA), “The Bizarre World Of Frank Zappa” will include longtime and legendary Zappa players Ray White, Mike Keneally, Scott Thunes, Robert Martin and Ed Mann with Joe “Vaultmeister” Travers; they’ll be joined along the way by Steve Vai, Ian Underwood, Lady Bianca, Napoleon Murphy Brock and Arthur Barrow.   Hours of never-before-seen (or heard) Zappa performance footage from the early seventies form the basis of the “can’t miss” concert spectacle.

(actually sounds pretty cool if you're a fan)

No it isn't. They are at Heartland Festival in Denmark end of May/early June.

Oh It's great then. I was checking the bands instagram page to double check. I am glad that they are doing a festival tour too this summer. I definetly want to see them.

Thanks, thought it was 25. But I actually meant the total of acts that will play the festival. Guess must be 80 or 100 or something, but probably quite some dj's and smaller Spanish acts.
