Is it just fair to say you prefer the atmosphere at Glastonbury? Rather than it's full of such unique experiences as seeing small bands, or the sun coming up...

Yeah I guess so. But I think its atmosphere in itself is unique - and that there's genuinely experiences that you wouldn't get in other places

I don't think it's solely the atmosphere either - the layout of the site, the bookings of the stages, the thought put into the art/design of the place etc plus a milion other reasons, culminates in something that means you get unique experiences

But, by that token, you can only experience a film at Glastonbury at Glastonbury, so it shouldn’t be dismissed as a waste of time because you can do it elsewhere when no actual activity is unique to the festival.

Well in my defence (yer 'onner), I actually said "doing almost *anything* at Glasto that can be done elsewhere just as well is pointless", and I'd argue that you can see movies just as well at lots of places, in fact much better in a decent cinema, because as I understand it there's not usually an amazing atmosphere at Pilton Palais for most movies, which would conceivably make the difference.

Yet, watching a favourite band on the Pyramid with 80,000 others has an atmosphere, and for most of us here, a specialness about it that only occurs at Glasto. Other stages also have this distinctiveness at Glasto which I've not experienced at other festivals, added to the fact that we've all had to jump through massively-difficult hoops to even get the tickets to get in (which on its own also applies to the Pilton Palais I'll grant you)

I'm famous!

Would love to watch a film at Glasto actually, during a bit of downtime, but doubt I ever will. Underwhelmed by this week's announcements. Hopefully a biggie tomorrow!

I watched Rogue One in 2017, it was a lovely experience! Even choked up a bit at the end when Carrie Fisher appeared on screen and everybody cheered.

Will definitely be looking to make a visit to the Palais dependent on Thursday's programming.

If you go see Bo Rhap after a few hours on the sauce, I bet you won’t leave thinking it’s the same as watching it in a flat in Birmingham.

I spotted that too. Really threw me when I thought I saw myself saying something I had no recollection saying. Mind you, I have done that before too...

Yeah I’ll concede that there’s an element of that.

Maybe not as much difference in that particular activity as there is in some of the other stuff. Or who knows, maybe this is a massive difference? Wouldn’t know as I’ve never been

but each to their own and I’m sure some people will have a great time with the singalongs etc

I've watched a good few films at festivals and hope Cineramageddon has something to offer me this year as well. I have a lovely time doing it, it's a couple of hours out of five whole days, it's definitely a unique watching experience and only Judy can judge me.
