Avalon_Fields
Belated addition to my list, Kacey Musgraves 'Golden Hour'. For anyone who likes a tinge of country combined with soft Fleetwood Mac-pop it's a really lovely set of songs.
Watergirl
I buy albums all the time but am often a bit behind and didn’t actually get ten that were released in 2018. So here’s my top five: 1. Be more kind - Frank Turner 2. Banjophony - Damien O’Kane & Ron Block 3. Seedlings all - Josienne Clarke & Ben Walker 4. Miziki - Dobet Gnahoré 5. Amy Lawn
When passed the aux cable at a party this evening, I choked and put on Cardi B instead of SOPHIE. This naturally throws doubt my AotY ranking, so I may not even get it out this weekend. My foundations are shook, is Cardi B really a better time than SOPHIE or was I just trying to water down my own soul in the face of the very Cheshire posh folks I'd be eating if I had conviction in my beliefs? I think it's just common courtesy not to play abrasive, practically anti-social music around people trying to enjoy themselves. Doesn't mean you like it any less. Gucci Piggy
Didn't get chance to listen to some albums I had planned to (Lucy Dacus, Snail Mail, Spiritualized and a few more) , or to give enough listens to some albums which may have been up there (Kamasi Washington, A.A.L., Julia Holter), but then I guess that means they didn't really draw me back in enough to make this list. So here are my favourite albums of 2018 (you can just take out CSH if you don't wanna count it as 2018):

Make sure you read properly it so you don't get left out when all your mates are talking about it in the playground tomorrow. Loads of good stuff across the year actually, thought it'd been pretty light until I started compiling it. 2018 is nothing to sniff at, but not as mad as 2017. *Kamasi is recipient of the "this is well good but I've not got the time or concentration span to really absorb it right now but I can tell it's good and I'm well into this artist's previous work" award which last year went to Bjork.
