Everyone is being far too hasty. Haven't you all forgotten there is an 80s inspired MUSE album on the way tomorrow? That alone demands your attention and presumably a shoo-in at the top of each and every one of your AOTY lists. I've also seen a distinct lack of inclusion of the Richard Ashcroft album.

In all seriousness, I'm actually going to hold off on my list as i'm intrigued as to what the Good, The Bad and The Queen sounds like. Their debut was excellent.

I give every new Muse album a courtesy listen as an indulgence to the 20 year old me who loved Showbiz/Symmetry/Absolution. Then I quickly remember how shite they've become and that guy goes back into his box for another couple of years.

I liked Right Thoughts too....the new one nearly made my list. The song Lazy Boy lived up to it’s title as he sings ‘Lazy Boy’ 28 times within 3 minutes, and suspiciously similar to some old disco classics.

Right Thoughts has the best song about suburban swinging this side of Pulp.

We've all been going mad over it in the 2018 new music thread since it leaked yesterday.

Listen to the albums from Camp Cope and Fiddlehead. Sounds like your kind of thing.

As brilliant as Twin Fantasy is it always makes go back to Teens Of Denial, adore that album.

I love Twin Fantasy, and it’ll definitely be in my top 10, but Teens of Denial is head and shoulders above it for me. It’s slotted right there in as one of my favourite albums of all time. It’s a fucking masterpiece.

Really hope they get a good a slot at the festival next year. Saw them on The Park in 2016 at 11:15AM, criminal slot for them.

Eh it was only about a month after they released their breakthrough album so it was a perfectly fine slot for them.

Just so it is known, I love Twin Fantasy but I’m not putting it in my list cos I already loved the 2011 release and this is essentially a remix album. I didn’t see it in many ‘best of 2018 so far’ articles so I imagine that’s what the publications are thinking too - unless they just didn’t like it, which isn’t likely.

Seen them on Wednesday, much livelier than I thought it would be and was a great set that was ToD heavy. Really hoping they’re there next year but don’t see it after two tours over here this past year.

Am I the only person who thought that the new Parquet Courts wasnt as good as most of their other stuff?

I really like the album but it's probably my least favourite of the proper Parquet Courts albums. Total Football, AHTSAF/IAOOP and Freebird 2 are some of their best songs though.

Right I am enjoying this Kamasi Washington album but I have been listening to it for 5 hours now and it hasn't finished yet. How am I supposed to give this thing repeated listens? Am I supposed to set aside 7 hours of my day for "listening to the Kamasi Washington album"? I don't think so, so well done Kamasi, you played yourself.

So far...

Singularity - Jon Hopkins

Stranger Fruit - Zeal & Ardor

Dirty Computer - Janelle Monae

Knock Knock - DJ Koze

Everything Was Beautiful - Moby

Qualm - Helena Hauff

AOTY update. I'm adding:

V. - Wooden Shjips

And if they could play in the afternoon on a sunny Park Stage that would be most acceptable.

This is why Harmony of Difference was so brilliant. I’ve never made it all the way through the other 2.

They always go first. I think it's so that people buy loads of Rough Trade albums -- their lists are usually just a little bit biased

I like the album a lot, but get the feeling that (spoiler) Shame got No1 because they're doing a special in-store to celebrate.

In the past, all of their top 10 have then been on sale including extras (usually bonus cd), which I think affects their placing.
