Festivals in films

I watch a fair few films. In the past week i’ve watched a couple that went under my radar a bit but both have been excellent and both got me thinking that there must be others out there that feature festivals we love as a backdrop. 

So - Come on Eileen - a lovely low-budget film from about 2012 (with Noel Fielding, Julia Davis and Keith Allen all taking small roles) prominently features a festival that I believe is Field Day. It’s definitely worth watching. 

And - Robot & Scarecrow is a beautiful short movie that, I think, was filmed at Secret Garden Party. 

Does anybody out there know of others? Obviously not including bigger things such as this year’s ‘Festival’...

The festival scenes in Tamara Drewe were filmed at End of the Road. I was there and gutted to have not run into Gemma Arteton

This year, there were 2 flicks being filmed at LAtitude. Something with Idris Elba and something else directed by Danny Boyle & Richard Curtis.

Which is nice.

There were shout-outs on social media. Thursday evening Idris played a DJ slot in the Sunrise arena for a film and there was an opportunity to get involved in the Boyle/Curtis one too.

yeah. They had a secret set by Michael Kiwanuka on the saturday morning which was filmed for whaever the danny Bolye thing was....
