Is it finish early hump day or something? Far too much work not being done in this thread...

Been in work since 07:15 and not done a scrap of work since. This is what Glastonbury does to people.

How bad do we think traffic will be then? There's a lot of comparisons between now and 2016 which obviously ended up with a lot of queuing as they struggled to get vehicles onsite, are we anticipating anything similar? Wasn't so bad on the coach but driving down this year would be effort.

Nothing similar expected. 2016 the site was already under water in parts.

The site is pretty dry now.

To be honest, if the 'feels like' temperature is correct, then any showers that we have will evaporate terry darn quickly.

Also they will be s blessed relief for us from that heat!!!!

My manager is back in the office after her holiday so there's a bit of furious alt-tabbing whenever she gets close to my screen

She probably thinks I'm looking at porn.

I was 12 hours on a coach in 2016, from Taunton. 25 miles away.

The heartbreaking moment when the driver stopped for an hour for lunch at Clarks Village and then rejoined the road to see the van that was behind us at the roundabout an hour previously now just on the other side of the roundabout.

Toilets didn't work on the bus either and the driver wouldn't let us off.

Jesus. I think we ended up 13 hours or so from Manchester, managed to get the tent up just before it got dark.

Sounds like we had a better time than you though, why didn't the bus driver let you off?! People were on and off ours, pretty useful as I smoke. There was a church selling refreshments outside and all sorts, a group got off to buy a pint at a pub at one point. They thought they'd lost 2 of them and they turned up 20 minutes later, it was a solid warm up.

that said the driver on the way back was a dick so guess its luck of the draw with that stuff.

Did he lock the door while he had lunch? Nice person! Would have only been a three hour walk from Clarks :)

*again*

To be fair, I'd probably get less funny looks for looking at porn than dribbling over some of the charts recently.

I don't think I know how to be productive anymore.  Between Glastonbury and bitcoin, I'd say only 10% of my workday is actually comprised of what could be classed as work

Our guy had a litter of kittens with him and he drowned one of them every extra hour we were on the coach.

Cheers Nal, just spat coffee all over my keyboard. It was bad enough that my manager thought I was looking at porn, now my keyboard is all sticky

So true, everytime my boss comes on I have to scramble away from the webcam page, only to jump to one of the various forecast pages.

Same! I've got another three hours of pretending to work too.

I also haven't got enough holidays to take at work for the festival so am pulling a sicky...I'm pretty sure a quick IT audit will point to my whereabouts.

22 hours from Edinburghto Gate A in 2016. I still have sleepless nights. Got off bus at one point, had 2 leisurely pints, and strolled 50 yards up road to get back on bus. Horrendous. Marvellous how quickly the nightmare faded once I was there though.

Ha ha I got out of our car went for a pint and they still hadn't drove past me ?

Where we are now IMO.

Reasons to be negative:

- GFS and BBC beginning to agree on a hot start to next week creating potential for BIG rain round start of festival (Tues / Weds)

- General agreement on some rain over actual festival weekend across nearly all models, which lets be honest no one wants

- Ground, while not soaked, clearly is muddier at this stage than we'd like, and potentially more rain to come start of next week, which increases chance of ground churn if we get a hit during festival

Reasons to be positive:

- Met Office still refusing to go with the 'plume' reaching to the West of the country and not forecasting any rain of significance through to Tuesday

- Low rainfall totals over weekend itself (Thurs / Fri / Sat / Sun) across current models

- People forget there was a thunderstorm warning in 2017 on the Weds / Thurs, and they all missed the site, as did several pretty hairy showers

- Thunderstorm are forecast several days away, and fest is a week, so time for stuff to change

All this.

But I would also add that the ground will have pretty much dried out from what it is now until through to Sunday.

Excitement building for the 12Z which we should have in full shortly after 6pm...
