Not sure if he has been mentioned before and I’m certainly not saying I want it, but what about Rick Astley as a guilty pleasure sing along? He is touring with Take That in May so will be about, I know he is deeply uncool but he is on a bit of a renaissance  at the moment, what better way to blow the cobwebs off the other stage than with a bit of cheese?

Just watched the Noel Gallagher thing. Got asked if he'd headline with High Flying Birds and said yeah as long as it's a Friday so he can enjoy the rest of the weekend. Then said you don't want the Sunday night slot, said "Friday morning at 11 o'clock, that's me", then said a bit about how good Glasto is.

Still, don't really see him doing that slot.

Forgive me for giving any content on Talksport attention, beyond adverts for cement mixers and wheelbarrows, but isn't it a bit suspicious for him to mention the start time (when The Other Stage openers do traditionally begin)? Does he know the festival that well or is it just a coincidence?

Would certainly allow Liam, as some have suggested, to sub McCartney on Sunday and be at the opposite end of the line-up.

Probably ruling with my heart over my head here.

Yeah he'll know that's when it kicks off. His brother pushed the button on this nuked breakfast of a slot so he'll have been aware before we was.

I have been trying to place where Idles will play next year. High up John Peel or the Park, or mid to late afternoon on the other stage maybe. They are going to be the big act of next year I reckon, massive , so wonder if opening the other stage on Friday might be a good slot for them? No doubt come June next June they will become even bigger and will attract a big crowd on Friday morning, that will certainly get everybody going

They would blow the cobwebs away as my Mum would say, bless her

Nah the Other opener has become the has-been slot, which Idles certainly aren't. They'd be wasted in that slot, and they deserve a proper rowdy crowd later in the day rather than a half asleep crowd at 11am.

After them failing to do it last time around, I'm gonna say Manics for the Friday opener (if they carry it on next year).

The thing is though, does she know who Stormzy is?

No she's 88 and has only knows of Aled Jones, Katherine Jenkins and Andy Murray. She also remembers Tim Henman. Stormzy is what I tell her is about to happen in February when the weather takes a turn fir the worse and i am trying to downplay its significance, she will only worry otherwise
