2019 Predictions

Recommended Posts

Loving the announcement, metronomy are great fun live - unfamiliar with beirut and michael so will have to check them out. Latest deerhunter, parquet courts, low albums are all great. General Fan of beak, courtney, jarvis, sleaford mods. Saw crack cloud and fontaines dc live last year and both were great live bands. Squid , viagra boys and bodega are sounding good from what ive been listening too. Lots still to check out.

A friend spoke to The Delines after their Newcastle gig and they said they hoped to play again.

I'm going to see Big Joanie in Glasgow tomorrow and i know Simon has been bigging them up so hope they will be added.

I thought Pond would be a shoe-in given that they have a new album coming out, and they've played a couple of times in the past few years so hoping they'll be there this year.

Maybe a bit out-there...but Broken Bells have new material on the way, and seeing as James was there with The Shins the other years maybe there's hope....?

Steady on folks, I've not scratched the surface of the current playlist yet. There were more acts than usual in the first announcement, so maybe it'll be a bit longer before the next one, but who knows.

That new Aldous Harding song is indeed tremendous - would love to see her back, particularly as I missed her for Parquet Courts last time. But I thought, having pulled out last year, she was more likely to have been in the first announcement if she was coming at all. Hope I'm wrong (again).

Otherwise, happy to see what turns up. For me I'd have Cherry Glazerr or The Beths or suchlike. (I'd have said Estrons but the buggers have just split up.) Ex Hex might be a possibility, played here the other year and have a new album on the way. Self Esteem / Rebecca Taylor says she's looking to play a load of festivals this summer as well.

Green Man announces their second lot tomorrow (Bill Ryder Jones judging by clue) so EOTR will follow.

Kevin Morby has an 8 piece man touring his new album.

Hopefully we get an announcement this week...it's been the second week of march the past couple of years (possibly previous years as well but haven't checked).

''We've added excellent new tracks by Jackie Cohen, Self Esteem, Royal Trux, and Pond to our Office Stereo playlist ''

Also described Hen Ogledd and Gazelle Twin as "EOTR favourites" in another tweet. Don't think you can read anything much into it, but I'd be delighted with those. Particularly Gazelle Twin as I have at least seen Hen Ogledd recently. (She doesn't strike me as someone who's just going to play a festival for the sake of it, though, without being satisfied about the when and where and set-up.)

Bodega have self confirmed they will be playing on the Friday, 30th August, so at least we have a day schedule for one act while we await the 2nd announcement.

Woo hoo!

I saw Bodega at the Electric Ballroom supporting RBCF. I thought they were equally as good....looking forward to this.
