tjrant
I think I missed something as on the Clashfinder Spiritulized is now clashing with Du Blonde? Tough choice, but I’ve always missed Du Blonde before and her new album is one of my favourites of the year. Secret Show guesses; Tipi - Bodega, Squid, Goat Girl, Viagra Boys, maybe someone who isn’t playing like Dry Cleaning? Piano - Stella Donnelly, Cate le Bon, BC Camplight, Kate Tempest (this would be amazing).

Yoss
Other than Spiritualized, the Thursday is mostly guesswork at the moment. (And likewise, I presume, for the timings on the Talking Heads stage.) Edited August 8, 2019 by Yoss
Jeel
Tipi - Stella Donnelly, Wand, Black Midi, Squid and Crack Cloud Piano - Cate le Bon, Mary Latimore and Mark Mulcachy, Tunng, Babe Rainbow and Jade Bird

BM did one last year and would be surprised if crack cloud do it considering NOV3L, with whom they share members, are already playing the tipi on one of the nights

Not particularly because they're being refused, but because of the increased cost and the paperwork that needs to be done - and done properly; minor cock-ups on the paperwork can lead to no visa. ljsawyer
Really struggling to get a ticket on Twickets... I keep getting alerts on my phone to say that one is available, but every time I tap 'Buy' it says that someone is already in the process of buying it. They must all have faster connections than I do!

I suggest setting up an alert for the Twitter account - that's just a bot, and it's far faster. Good luck

I'd imagine that makes budgeting a festival pretty challenging. I have absolutely no idea what these acts would be paid, but plucking a number from the air, a $100k fee (again, I truly have absolutely zero idea what a headline fee might be...! just going with a round number, assume it's probably half or even a quarter of that!) is something like £5–8k more expensive this year than it was last. Visas have been problematic in the US for Arab artists, less so here, I believe. Edit to say: conscious this all a terrible amount of pointless conjecture! especially given the headliners booked last year were all North America-based and 'big' and we were still in the throes of the interminable Brexit-car crash then, too. Though contracting could've potentially happened when the economy was looking rosier, meaning not only a weak pound, but a shortfall to account for this year. There must be infinite economic considerations that go into bookings, and it's more likely touring schedules, perhaps? I've forgotten the relevant intricacies and rationale behind it, but there were technical visa issues which the Home Office, exercising the true spirit of insular British bonhomie fostered by Theresa May, had suddenly sought to apply: the effect, as I understood it, was that if you were eg. an American artist coming to play here but arriving via Ireland, you needed a separate visa over and above what you were otherwise required to produce if arriving from mainland Europe. That's the reason John Dee Graham was refused entry earlier this year/last year and all his UK dates were cancelled, and that's the reason he's vowed never to return to England again. There are just more - and more unwarranted - hurdles to negotiate now.

Bands have a habit of turning up in other countries with loads of instruments but on visitor visas which preclude working.
ljsawyer
Finally managed to get a ticket on Twickets! Though in my excitement at getting through to the booking page, I must have somehow forgotten to type my first name into the 'name' box, as my surname is all that appears on my ticket PDF ? Does anyone think this will be an issue?
