Yeah, there's some really interesting stuff going on this year. I fear that I may going to watch a few things on my own this year as my crowd aren't quite so adventurous (especially the wife!). I just hope that all the slightly more "out there" stuff isn't confined to the tents.

sadly I think its inevitable that most of it will be in the tents but I'm sure there will be some on the Garden .

Went to see Jessica Pratt the other night, was exceptional. Really hope she is on the Garden rather than Woods stage.

Saw her in Brighton - mesmerising. Shame I can hardly make out a word she sings though.

it feels like EOTR are starting to veer even further into booking experimental, unusual stuff and I for one couldn't be happier about it. Excited to hear what Late Junction have up their sleeves for this year.

It's a funny line up, isn't it, because the top few lines are deceptively boring (the headliners are totally uninspired and the likes of Courtney Barnett, Baxter Dury, Jarvis Cocker really don't excite me). But below that there is a lot of really interesting stuff:

Let's Eat Grandma, Ata Kak, Serpentwithfeet, Jessica Pratt, BCUC, KOKOKO, Kero Kero Bonito, Jockstrap, Black Country New Road, Gazelle Twin, Lonnie Holley, William Tyler, Kikagaku Moyo, Tunng, Oliver Coates, Sandro Perri, Kelly Moran, Bilge Pump, Black Midi, Group Listening...

Pleased to see William Tyler added to the line up but overall I think this year is the weakest line up yet at EOTR.

Don't think I would be going if I hadn't bought an early bird, and I can see me straying to Green Man next year who have a much stronger line up as far as my taste goes

I think Green Man beats EOTR in terms of the bigger acts (Stereolab and Broken Social Scene will be incredible) but below the top lines I think EOTR really blows Green Man out the water

It's a line-up that is the equivalent of a musician saying "I make music for myself and if anyone likes it, that's a bonus". It really does feel like a labour of love this year, rather than just an exercise in booking whichever indie heavyweights are touring this summer. Personally, I applaud them for this approach. Their line-ups have always resulted in a voyage of discovery for me, and this year is no different. But I totally get why some are underwhelmed.

Totally agree with this. Its a very strange year. Below the headliners is just so interesting wonderful stuff. Headliners top end almost middle of the road.

I still like the top billed stuff. Deerhunter, Courtney Barnett, Mitski, Parquet Courts, Jarvis, Low and Spiritualized would all have been on my wish list. I've since become quite excited about seeing Michael Kiwanuka and Metronomy.

I think the whole thing is stacked.

thought it'd be interesting to see who you guys are planning to see now that the line up is more complete. Lots still to listen to and discover of course:

Must See's - Low, Deerhunter, Mitski, Black Midi, Yves Tumor, Crack Cloud, Wire, Daniel Avery, Nubya Garcia, Nerija

Would really like to see - Spiritualized, NOV3L, Black Country New Road, Moses Boyd, Jarvis Cocker, Parquet Courts, Sleaford Mods, Jessica Pratt, Baxter Dury, Goat Girl, Beak, Ata Kak, Kelly Lee Owens, BCUC, KOKOKO!, William Tyler, Squid, Wand, Kathryn Joseph, Viagra Boys, Gazelle Twin, Pigsx7, Lewsberg, Bilge Pump, Anna St Louis, TVAM, Steam Down, The Murder Capital, Virginia Wing, Beirut,

Won't be seeing/not fussed about: Metronomy, Michael Kiwanuka, Courtney Barnett, Stella Donnelly, Kero Kero Bonito, Bodega,

Cool line up when all said and done. Looks like more UK acts than before?

Definitely less Americana and straight Indie. Not a huge deviation really. A couple of big headliners do give an air of expectation / buzz that may be missing.

Ah well  - the whole package is what I go for, and there will be a few bands who I hadn’t heard of who will be on constant rotation on my playlists by the summer!
