Sean1234321
Where the hell are the transgender artists on this lineup?
thebeattokeep
Less of a stick to beat them with and more musing about who might be to come –– I seem to remember Joana Newsome was in the second announcement, there could be another headliner to come? Unpopular opinion, but I think Metronomy will be great fun. All round stellar announcement and I'm excited to get stuck in to the acts down the bill!
RedRockRick
Meh Headliners=stick them on the Woods Stage=good Lots of acts I know nothing about=good Good selection of acts I like=Garden Stage or Tipi=good Overall at this stage=? benali
As many have said, not fussed with the headliners but then I always prefer stuff on the Garden Stage anyway. Fontaines DC, Murder Capital, Parquet Courts and Goat Girl are big draws for my eldest so that will keep him happy. So happy that Kathryn Joseph is playing, been wanting to see her for ages. The undercard is very good. Quite a lot of crossover with Green Man although I'm never going to complain about seeing Pigs Pigs Pigs twice in a couple of weeks. thespiral
Continuing the run of disappointing headliners ........Beirut ? Metronomy ? Seriously in 2019 ? The last few years they have really dropped the ball. At least Spiritualized redeems it slightly for me - saw them in Madrid in November and they farexceeded all expectations. Lifelong fan since the Spaceman days but was thinking Jason's best days were behind him ... proved me wrong ? Some decent stuff further down the list as always. Yesiamaduck
Just a reminder that none of the bands have been bolded yet and these 4 nay not be the headliners. Wouldnt mind seeing Metronomy but the others o can take or leave. But eyeballing the rest of the line up there is A LOT of stuff i want to see and are likely to headline the same time as the current set of proposed headliners Overall im thrilled by the line up, a lot of fun upbest stuff
shoebox
Seems pretty clear that they are the main headliners from this Tweet: https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1090897488918253568 "Our headliners this year are four long-time EOTR favourites: @bandBeirut, @Metronomy, @MichaelKiwanuka, & @officialSpzd. Woods stage is my least fac anyways, any excuse to spend more time at the Big Top and Garden stage is fine by me
goldengirl
My worry is that the crowd at the Garden stage will be bigger than the Woods due to the poor headliners...
Nick07
Think the headliners just switch from from GM to EOTR every other year so gets a bit full. FJM at GM and now Kiwanuka at EOTR. Disappointed Spiritualized are on Thursday night but will still go. There is some utter magic below Kiwanuka and Metronomy.

But "poor headliners" is always a subjective statement. There will be a LOT of people very keen to see Beirut and Metronomy. Kiwanuka, I'm not sure about, he's obviously very popular but I'm not sure whether he will be with the EOTR crowd. That said, they would be mad to put Jarvis or Courtney on the Garden Stage (as great as that would be), they will be massive draws.
Yoss
Bit of a mixed bag - Parquet Courts, Mitski and Stella Donnelly were three of my top four in my 2018 albums [/eps] list so gotta be happy with those, particularly as I missed seeing Mitski live. Otherwise there's not a huge amount to get me excited yet, but as ever there's bound to be some gems among the stuff I don't know. (And it's always a great weekend anyway.) As others have observed it's a slightly odd-looking choice of headliners - even from within their own line-up. But I'm rarely there for the headliners anyway, so whatever. I'm hoping the likes of Parquet Courts, Courtney Barnett and Deerhunter will be headlining the Garden rather than subbing the Woods. Either way, looking forward to it already. She's done two UK tours with the current album already and looks like she's got a busy enough season down under during their summer. Unless she manages to find some time in there to record some new material she'll be flogging a pretty tired horse by August. Won't mind if I'm wrong though. On 1/9/2019 at 5:35 PM, SweepingTheNation said: I'd be surprised if she misses another festival summer, though, and also miss both EOTR and Green Man twice Happy to acknowledge being wrong. Maybe by this summer she'll no longer be specifically touring the current album but just going through the back catalogue. Which would be great. OddRon
Defintely think I'l be trying Green Man for the first time this year, other than Metronomy, Parquet Courts, Courtney Barnett and Stella Donnelly I'm not fussed with anyone else and I've seen/ or will be seeing the above acts multiple times
Mardy
Of the headliners, I guess Beirut are the only ones who appeal really. I've seen Spiritualized a few times over the years, mainly by accident. Don't feel any burning desire to see them again. Metronomy is just a strange booking, can't get my head round that at all. Meades93
First year going to EOTR after going to Latitude for the last few years. Really like the look of the line ups. Spiritualized are the real highlight for me, and I’m a big Metronomy fan. Undercard is really strong too. Courtney B and Jarvis will be great, Parquet Courts keep getting better and I’m excited to see Fontaines D. C. Lots of bands ive always wanted to check out too in deerhunter and Beirut. Purchased tickets last night and im not disappointed.
thespiral
Doesn't belong in this discussion but ...............car park £15 this year !!! WTF ? That's just a p*ss take.
killyourtv
As Rick says, loads of stuff I've never heard of so bound to be great. Rarely stay up for the headliners anyway, far too cold (Fenland wimp). Kathryn Joseph, Jessica Pratt, Mitski, Beirut def. highlights. But Metronomy headlining in 2019 that’s just shocking Kiwanuka headlining dreadful going to eotr since 2007 can’t think of two worse headliners than those two. It just makes the garden stage even more appealing than it already is. Hopefully Deerhunter will be kept away from the woods stage. Guy Incognito
Headliners are very underwhelming but the undercard is exceptional. So much to like here.

Guy Incognito
Would see all of Spiritualized, jarvis, Deerhunter, Sleaford mods, parquet courts, low, mitski, Baxter Dury, Daniel, avery, wire, beak, goat girl, serpentwithfeet, yves tumor, nubya garcia, ata kak, Steve gunn, black midi, moses boys, squid, Fontaines dc, viagra boys, pigs x7, crack cloud, BCNR, the murder capital Edited January 31, 2019 by Guy Incognito
sjseabass
Cannot get my head around the Metronomy hate in the slightest. They’ve been getting steadily bigger - headlined John Peel at Glastonbury 2017, which is higher up their bill than any End of the Road headliner apart from Vampire Weekend has ever played, big venues on their tour too - so I don’t know what all this ‘headlining in 2019??’ business is about. Get with the times - consistently great singles put out over the years, presumably a new album out this year and good live. Sign me up for the party. As for the rest of it this is a perfect reason to get into Low, Deerhunter and a few others people have been raving about recently but I haven’t picked up yet. Plus they’ve basically booked everyone I could’ve hoped for that I’m fans of already - Courtney, Sleafords, Beak>, Parquet Courts, BC Camplight, Let’s Eat Grandma, Black Midi, Bodega, Fontaines DC, Pigs x 7, and Daniel bloody Avery! Plus intrigued by Jarvis’s new project. Probably my favourite lineup since I started going. Thrilled.
sjseabass
I should clarify above, I mean bigger than any EotR headliner would’ve played at Glastonbury at the same time. Obviously Flaming Lips have done bigger Glasto slots in the past, Tame Impala since, etc, but not at the same time.

Because it’s so diverse and refreshing very much now. Metronomy is not getting with the times. If they had been announced as headlining the green man . The beautiful folks on here would more than likely be saying how poor an headliner they are.
