Hey guys. First time heading to NOS and have booked and Airbnb in Lisbon city from Wednesday to Sunday. Only heading tp Saturday of festival so far. Is it easy to get too/from festival from there? Would Cascais be a better option? There's 9 of us so limited options closer to festival.

Cabs and Ubers are really cheap in Lisbon about ten euros a drive to the festival

Lisbon is a lot easier and closer than Cascais. You can get a train to and from there quicker than you can to over to Cascais.

Staying in Lisbon is the right idea - just pop down to Cascais and Estoril on the train in the daytimes.

This festival is, in my eyes, showing a typical portuguese attitude. It just lacks self awareness and is unable to place itself in a context where there is competition involved, it's pure laziness. This is "how to annoy your audience and make it pursue other available options 101". How much would it hurt them to just be more communicative? They try so hard to look trendy and cool and end up just making a fool of themselves

Edit: Just seen the post - who in their sane minds would post that NOT expecting backlash?? And why would I even count my days?...

I decided to create a playlist for all the announced acts so far using their recent set lists so that I can listen to some of the bands I have never heard of before, dunno if anyone else would like to follow it but I’ll be updating it once/IF we get new announcements ?

anyway here it is:

Just wondering what the deal is with collecting wristbands?

I went to Mad Cool last year and the queue system was awful on the first day, but at Primavera Barca the year before we were able to collect the day before, which saved a lot of hassle.

Is Nos a similar situation to Primavera, or is it a free for all on the Thursday?

I hope they'll be quick. We are waiting too much right now.

Two ways to collect your wristband:

1. Enter the festival with your ticket and exchange it for a wristband on-site. Think there are multiple locations where you can do this (or at least according to the map on the website). Haven't seen large queues last year on the first day, definitely not longer than 30 minutes (10-15 minutes max?). If you arrive early-ish (let's say between 5-6 pm), the initial peak of people will be gone and you'll be ahead of peak of people between 6-7 pm. (Not sure the latter is really a thing, but noticed it on the other days.)

2. Collect your wirstband at the shopping mall (Alegro Alfragide Shopping Center) close to the camping. Not sure if it's only possible on the first day of the festival or also earlier. Throughout the festival shuttle buses connect the festival with the mall. Think you can also collect at the Camping & Bungalow site itself. When you're staying in Belém or Lisbon city center, it's a bit of a thing to get there by bus. We went for it just to have it over with and avoid any queues at the festival. We did some shopping as well, it has a very big supermarket. Sadly it isn't located in an area worth seeing.

So we are now looking at another week without any news + a long weekend. They aren't even replying to social media messages or anything really anymore like before, no more smug replies with winking emojis when I ask when the next announcement is, have they really got nothing left to announce? Very worrying especially since Mad Cool actually pulled something out now

This lack of announcements could be related to some Coachella artists?

Don't ask me why but I'm trying to figure it out...

Coachella only make obligations for artists that are going to play in the U.S.

- Artist playing Coachella are barred from performing any festival in North American from December 15 to May 1.

- Artists are also barred from playing any hard ticket concerts in Southern California during that same time period.

- Artists can't "advertise, publicize or leak" performances at competing festivals in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington or Arizona or headliner concerts in SoCal that take place after May 1 until after May 7.

- Artists can't announce festival appearances for the other 45 states in North America until after the Coachella lineup is announced in January, with exceptions made for Austin's South by Southwest, Ultra Miami and the AEG-backed New Orleans Jazzfest.

- Artists must also wait for the January announcement before publicizing tour stops in California, Arizona, Washington and Oregon, with an exception made for Las Vegas casinos, but not Las Vegas festivals.
