Just interested to hear any long journeys and maybe there are chances we are all travelling in groups! I am travelling with a group of 2 cars on the ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge overnight. We are travelling from Fife. Driving onto the ferry at North Shields, sailing to Ijmuiden, then on to the festival. We've done this route a few times before and it's pretty decent. It's the least driving time for us, on the ferry 5pm til 9am approx. And prefer loading the car up with all the camping gear etc than attempting to travel light for a flight. ShaneT
We are travelling from Cumbria down to London [Train], then getting the Eurostar across to Brussels. We are setting off around 9am, and arrive in Brussels at around 7pm! Then we are staying the night in Brussels [Tuesday]. We will be travelling reasonably light, but there are only two of us and we found Leuven to be very accessible for anything we forgot/couldn't carry last time. Not long now

Rock Werchter is already sign posted from the motorway. From there head to Keerbergen that's where you'll find the signs to follow to the hive parking( It's signed as zone A). Join the queue and pay your €15 when you get to the parking. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
Dyceloon
great thanks for this . Think theres a turn off to Mechelen just before Brussels , then head south to Keerbergen ?

Think theres a turn off to Mechelen just before Brussels , then head south to Keerbergen ? I did the drive from Dover to Dunkirk then to the fest, my first time driving in Europe and it was a real simple drive, straight road around Brussels then the fest is signposted well once you get off the motorway. Google maps is the way to go though, especially as it tells you where speed cameras are. Also remember you need breathalyzers and a warning triangle ect for driving in France/Belgium. Dyceloon
Thanks Chaarlie. As long as we get in that general direction and follow the festival signs im sure we will be ok. Loved driving over there, thought main roads much better than in UK. We have driven from Calais to the Down the Rabbit Hole fest in Holland before , so we are already organizing the extra car accessories you mention again . Does anyone know if there are any supermarkets in or around the approach the RW? Just thinking of grabbing some fresh bread and fruit on way in . If not , any suggestions on detours to local village shops to recommend ?

Also Haacht is about a 20 minute walk from the hive and there is a supermarket next to the church. You can't get to Haacht easily by car as the town is cordened off as they have everything following the diversion around the site. ( But you can drive past the cordon and play the didn't understand card) Edited May 29, 2019 by Scarnic
Chaarlie
There's plenty in Haacht which aren't too far a walk from the festival site, we went almost every day as the tents were way too hot to sleep in the morning, cheap beer too from the Lidl/Aldi. If you want to stop on the way I would pick a town a little way away as they do cordon off a few roads, we didn't as we got there around 10 on Wednesday. Also you have to pay the £20 parking every time you leave and reenter the car park, not recommended! Edited May 30, 2019 by Chaarlie
