Taking Back Sunday just announced some UK shows the week before Glasto, probably more likely Download but just a thought. 

The Hives would be a great other stage opener!

I reckon they’d make more of the “exclusive” tag if they were exclusive. What with tickets to sell.

I got to say, at this stage there's a lot of interesting bands active next summer, you've got yer Beach House, yer Hot Chip, yer Bon Iver, all that mob.

Nice counterbalance to the tedious inevitability of the courteeners, blossoms, gallaghers etc.

Metronomy are still great live though, which is more than can be said for Kurt.

Have you seen him with the Violators? He was absolutely awful at Glasto '16 but I live in hope that he'd be good with the full band. Love his records.

Christ was he? I swear everything atm is billed as Kurt Vile and the Violators, but it was just Kurt Vile at Glasto. But maybe he's just changed his marketing; I don't actually remember much about the set other than not enjoying it tbh.

Yeahh I'm chatting absolute shit. Watching Pretty Pimpin on youtube now and it sounds good. I left about halfway through though cos it was a drag and I was excited to see Last Shadow Puppets and wanted a good place. Oh well.

I was also there and remember the on/off rain, shitty ground conditions and overall knackeredness being a big factor in not really enjoying his set. Suppose the fact that his music is all pretty downbeat and samey didn’t help it make much of an impact. Would like to see him have another stab at it.

Yeah I think Kurt Vile has just changed his marketing angle. I've seen him a couple of times just billed as Kurt Vile, but he had his band on both occasions. He's good live but it needs to be the right conditions. Bad weather and a hangover could really do a number on his set. Best time I saw him was at the 6 Music fest in Bristol.

that's probably just crap promoters not publicising the right name.

A lot of the time promoters can't even spell the bit they do remember correctly - this has been one of the bigger revelations I've had since starting efests (there's not been many exciting revelations  ).
