I find it weird how The Vaccines are shat on by people who willingly go and see Wolf Alice, who themselves are a result of Lammo throwing a Lush t-shirt into a cauldron of hot cider.

I had never been arsed one way or the other re: The Vaccines. Then they supported the Stone Roses & Bored the arse off of me.

That gig was amazing barring them. I've always had a dislike since then.

Never seen Wolf Alice.

Never seen Wolf Alice.

I thought they were good supporting the Stone Roses. Rose to the occasion really well. The Wailers afterwards were pretty boring.

I do actually like Wolf Alice a bit. Just they’re quite far from groundbreaking (as I’ll admit The Vaccines are) but don’t get the stick for it.

Wolf Alice winning the Mercury was baffling. Debut was great and exciting but the follow-up is just pretty solid and, Don't Delete The Kisses aside, had no right to be winning awards imo. The Vaccines' first two albums were better fo sho.

First 2 Vaccines albums were great (first especially). The 2015 album was poor though by their standards. I'd forgive them a poor album though- some bands have many! The new album is actually much better and a return to form. I'd look out for a decent spot on the bill next June and i'd try to see them (clashes permitting)

Yeah it feels like they won it for the wrong album, almost like they were getting very late recognition for a great debut. I think Wolf Alice are miles better than The Vaccines though, who in turn are miles ahead of Kaiser Chiefs.

Agreed. Loved the first and like the second but no way it should've won especially with some of the albums they were up against.

Felt like a deliberate act to push them further into the limelight.

That's the Mercury's for ya I guess!

That’s a bizarre support choice. Puts the conversation about Kaisers/Vaccines into perspective somewhat.

Just seen that the earlier-mentioned Toto are booked up at Clamrock(!) in Austria over most of Glastonbury weekend so sorry Totodiles, it ain’t looking up.

Savages have just announced a gig in London on November 16.  I imagine they will have a slot at the farm somewhere, headline Park maybe?

Can you point me in the direction of this ... can't seem to find it. Cheers.

+ I liked the first Vaccines album too. Even went to see them at the O2 and they did a good job of it.

Outshone by The Walkmen(?!?!) of course though.

The Walkmen dropped arguably the greatest track of the 2000s though so go easy on 'em
