True enough, but for all his attacking qualities, trippier fucked up defending it on the line. It's still a mistake.

If we’re pointing blame at someone for Colombia’s goal Trippier isn’t the first in line.

It really is huge. It's a huge psychological boost, adds to the feeling that the stars are aligning for us...

NO!

You are not fucking Gary fucking Neville fucking talking about it being fucking written in the fucking stars.

Leave that fucking astrology fucking bullshit in the fucking bin where it fucking belongs.

Also leave Gary fucking Neville in the bin while we're at it.

You leave Gary alone.

On a more serious note, it is a valid point that winning this shootout mentally separates this squad from the failures of the past.

Completely agree with this.

Another thing worth noting, but unlike a number of other keepers this tournament, Pickford stayed on the line to make that pen save. Full credit to him.

I thought he was nailed on for the 5th. Not sure where he got to.

Don't think he stepped out until the ball got struck?

I’ll have to view it again. But I don’t care if he did. They are all at it and it’s one of the least enforced rules in the game.

The memoir starts with Southgate missing his penalty in 1996, and ends with him watching his team winning a shoot out with kick number 5.
