or Milner, or Gomez who should be around fit again about now.

With a bit of luck The Ox is back next month, too.

It's a position with tonnes of talent in the academy as well with Camacho and Hoever, but it is still bad timing. Looks like Gomez won't be back before February though.

can't say that Camacho impressed me much last week.

Yeah I wasn't convinced but will do as a 3rd/4th choice if desperate. Plus the entire team was changed enough that no-one really impressed.

Cracks appearing with the Scousers. Been ran into the ground all season.

Not as bad as it looks, Matip and Lovren coming back makes it look a lot better. Our game's changed loads now so there's much less intense, frantic running.

Spurs finally feeling the effects of competing on multiple fronts. After  a WC summer and not investing in anyone last summer. they've been fairly lucky the last few seasons with a lack of injuries.

Wouldnt put it past Poch to adjust fairly well though.

They could always, you know, buy someone.

It's obvious that the new stadium is hitting them in the pocket but they've left themselves woefully underequipped for a few key injuries.

Vieras Nice vs Henrys Monaco (with Fabregas) later. Viera could really put Monaco in the shit. Watched Marseille vs Monaco on Sunday. Fabregas the best player on the pitch. Mionaco are terrible though.

It's only a couple of years since they were tearing up Europe too. That's the problem with teams the size of Monaco, as soon as you challenge the big boys they come in and pick your squad clean.

I think everyone has realised that January is a massive rip off.

I think it's more that most clubs are either doing as well as they'd hoped or have accepted their fate. Surprised Fulham haven't gone in for a defender, but the owners of Newcastle, Cardiff and Huddersfield don't give a shit about relegation, and everyone else is thinking they don't need to invest as those teams can't score for shit.

Think everyone at the top end other than spurs has the squad they want.

Monaco now world's away from the team that lit up the Champions League. Fabregas will be a good signing for them though. Batshuayi is headed there too. Maybe he can rediscover his form back in Ligue 1.

This has been an incredibly quiet transfer window so far.

Yep. Couple of Chelsea bits rumbling along... Looks like Higuain will end up at Chelsea one way or another with Morata off to Atletico.

Really curious about the Higuain move, wanted to see him in the Prem for years. He's obviously got quality but not sure how he'll adapt now with a new league and new country. How are Chelsea fans feeling about it?

Likewise. If the signing happened a few years ago the atmosphere would be different but right now there's definitely some uncertainty.

Some of the fans think it's a short term option and aren't happy about that which is fair enough I suppose but to be honest, he played under Sarri at Napoli and if Sarri sees him as an immediate solution, I trust him.

It comes down to one thing and one thing only, we need a centre forward. There are slim pickings at the moment in terms of what's available but if we don't bring someone in we risk missing out on top four. Chelsea always performed at their best when they had a strong player upfront who could finish ie Costa and Drogba. I can see Higuain giving defenders a hard time, getting into the right position and scoring goals inside the box.

He can't be a worse option than Morata at this stage.

Agree that there's less desperation amongst teams and incentive to go out and spend colossal sums, but can you blame them when Bournemouth are asking for £75m for Callum Wilson?

Oh completely. The market is insane, and January even moreso. But in our case, spend £20m to stay in the prem and keep rafa and the club is a lot more of an asset to sell than a championship club with an interim manager.

That would make sense to most clubs, then again most clubs don't have a guy trying to run them like a branch of Sports Direct.
