Very difficult start for Newcastle, think we might be bottom of the league early on.

Ouch! Spurs, Chelsea, City, United, and Arsenal before mid October, really tough start. Though I'd trust Rafa to at least get a few points from those matches. Quite happy with the Liverpool fixtures as long as we get through the Christmas period well.

If he is still manager. I think he might see through this remaining year on his contract though.

I always wish they would give the big teams more competitive matches on the last game. I know it doesnt always go that far, but would add some drama.

I think they admitted it's done intentionally, otherwise the big game risks being a dead rubber if everything decided by then. Tbh this year I'd just love an actual title race (and Liverpool to be involved in it). The team top in November has won it by a mile since 13/14, and they all stayed in first for the second half of the season. A last day title decider is always brilliant.

Its way to early to be saying who you are backing now. Sure the transfer window is only open (and most likely to be effectively on pause while the World Cup is on).

There is no looking past City base on last season but that is very much subject to change and as we all know past performance is not always and good indicator of future performance.

Hopefully a more interesting season than the last one.

Can see City going harder for the CL this time around and don't see them doing as well again in the league (though I still expect them to win it).

Liverpool have pushed on in terms of their squad and, along with United, will probably push City further this time around.

Spurs look set to hold onto their star players and have managed to keep Pochettino from Madrid.

Chelsea are a complete unknown right now. Still no manager and not much talk of signings. Courtois going into his final year and refusing to sign an extension. Rumours of PSG wanting Kante.

Arsenal also pretty unknown. Made/making some decent signings on paper for where they are but it doesn't look like enough to get them back in the top 4 for me.

Obviously lots can still change before the season starts so let's see what happens. Right now I'm expecting the same top 4 and Chelsea/Arsenal in 5th/6th again.

I think Man City might lock it out for a few seasons.

Think they'll struggle next year. The only way they improve on last year is winning the CL and they've definitely got some weaknesses mentally when teams get in their faces. Still think they'll win but won't walk it in the same way.

There seems to be a mistake, they’ve mispelt “West Brom” 38 times.

Is there any part of you that is looking forward to the championship? I would have thought for the likes of wba, stoke and Swansea who have been making up the numbers for years, the chance to win something must have some appeal.

Cheaper tickets, proper football grounds, being less fucked over by TV stations, and bigger away allocations are all appealing surely.

Goodison is the only proper football ground left in the top flight isn’t it?

What dyou mean by proper football grounds? There's plenty of old grounds of varying quality and atmosphere in the Prem.

I don’t know...one in the middle of town and not an out of town industrial or retail park. One the centre of the local community surrounded by terraced housing, or still having an Archibald Leitch stand...

Rubbish. The vast majority are new shitholes with no atmosphere. Burnley and Everton part of the great minority.

Surely St James's qualifies? You can see it from anywhere in Newcastle just about. I will admit the atmosphere has taken a dip since the Bobby Robson days but I think that has more to do with the owner than anything else.

Craven Cottage? Dean Court? Selhurst Park? Vicarage Road? Stamford Bridge?

Craven Cottage has two sets of scaffolding at either end for stands. Dean Court....my garden shed....Stamford Bridge has compromised the size of the shed by building a massive hotel on its old footprint....no Leitch in sight at any of them
