2019 Possibilities (Non-Headliner)

Recommended Posts

As an attempt at trying to split the good other bands from the headliners, and the they could play West Holts on the Sunday afternoon type rumours here's another thread.

We've already got The Streets rumour but who else could turn up lower down the bill? Who's got a new album out later this year/early next year? Who's always there?

I’m at Bearded Theory this weekend and have seen an up and coming new band called “Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip”, not once, but twice.

Hopefully they’re on the Eavii radar.

I'll tweet Emily and make sure she's heard of him...

Reel Big Fish are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Their current tour finishes next May but they tend to tour a lot anyway, could tag a few dates on the end including Glastonbury? Maybe on the John Peel Stage? The Gaslight Anthem have a new album coming out soon as well, similar billing maybe, or maybe even Other in mid-afternoon?

On a similar note I'd put money on Billy Bragg playing left-field for the next 20 festivals.

Hot Chip again would be amazing. Just don’t think 2015 could be topped.

In fact I’ve had a few ciders so that’ll be going on tonight.

What a set!

That whole evening was great. The best night I’ve had on the farm.

I actually don’t think I’d see Hot Chip at Glasto again, it couldn’t be any better.

Don't really know where to put this so I'll optimistically suggest The Walkmen as a possibility and go off on a tangent...

I've just seen that Stuart Lupton of Jonathan Fire*Eater has died. I really enjoyed the section in Meet Me In The Bathroom which was focused on them, even though I had no idea who they were. I've listened to them since and they were a pretty good band, but it was all a bit too chaotic to be sustainable and The Walkmen ended up forming with a few of Jonathan Fire*Eater's members once they'd split up. But yeah, Lupton sounded like a really interesting character. RIP.

I reckon we'll be seeing at least some of the following early doors on some of the smaller stages, and quite possibly up in the Park

Goat Girl

Girl Ray

Shame

Mono Club

Magic Gang

Keep seeing posters for Goat Girl and still cannot get over just how bad a name for a band it is.

Almost as dreadful as King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

There's a band called The Front Bottoms.

What they sound like no one will ever know

See, if nothing else you have to admire the commitment to being childish and obnoxious there.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizzard is like those people who insist on how 'random' they are are to people.

I dunno...it's in a lineage of names like The Pink Fairies or Radio Gnome Invisible. It lets you know what you're in for.
