forums upgrade, possible downtime

the techies from the forums software makers are going to be attempting to upgrade the forums shortly, and they'll be offline while that happens.

Unfortunately the normal upgrade process isn't working as it should do so things are very likely to go wrong, and it's impossible to judge how long the problems might take to fix.

Ha!. That didn't go well.

Things are back where they were, and at some point there'll be another attempt at the upgrade.

the main forums templates have been recreated, to ensure that they've got all the code changes from the upgrade.

One of them didn't copy properly and caused some people to get errors. Apologies if you were affected by that.

I've reverted to the old template for the moment, and will sort the new one tomorrow.
