First time at the Ricoh, and first time at one of these stadium rock gigs.  Crowd was up for it, found the excellent Dhillons Brewery beforehand.  My lucky dips were in the seats, towards the top of the corner (block 25).  Thought the sound was a bit lacking in the low and high notes, seemed to sacrifice a bit of quality for loudness.  Glad to hear The Specials, perfect summer music, and Rudy was a treat.  It was fun to see the Stones in their stadium setting as opposed to Glasto, my highlights would be the blues jam of Midnight Rambler and Happy.  Again the sound was funny where I was listening, the female solo in Gimme Shelter wasn't very audible.  All in all a bloody good spectacular.

Remembered your post and did spot a Flo shirt (or did I spot a Flo shirt and remember your post?) on the Friday at a merch stall on the island near bridge 5. It was well, well tucked away in the back right hand corner of the tent.

I hope you found one.

I'll be honest, I didn't have a look at the merch! Got to the Stratford staion about 4:45. Had a quick drink whilst waiting for the mate to arrive and headed in at about 6. Got gold circle so there wasn't much walking about to be had around the stadium from the lucky dip office to the bridge to enter and it completely slipped my mind! Your message has reminded me to check the Florence store though and the shirt I was after has been bundled in with the album pre order on the store for £25 so cheers for that! Probably would have cost £30 on the day so all's worked out well in the end ?

Manchester on Tuesday now! Hopefully I'll be able to nab another couple of Gold circle tickets. Though my hopes for this show aren't as high as the London one. Looks like it's nearly sold out so wouldn't surprise me if there's nosebleeds to be had in this one

Box office opens at 9 tomorrow right?

Where have you seen that? Be ideal for me that. Pick up my lucky dip tickets early and head into town to meet friends knowing if I'll be stood with them or not for the gig (they have general admission). And it would be easier to get rid of this other lucky dip ticket having the ticket in hand early

AXS seem extremely bad with the communication about these tickets though. For the London date I received an email stating;

  • You must pick up your tickets in person, from Box Office B along with your guest. Box Office B is open from 1PM - 6:30PM, please see the map below for location

Thing is I received that on the day at 6:59pm when I was already in there! Dreadful stuff. Some early information would be helpful from them
