What are people's thoughts on the new Bring Me The Horizon EP?

At the risk of being accused of ‘not being open minded enough to get it’ or ‘only listening to metal and not letting the band explore other genres’ or ‘not broadening my music horizons enough’, I think it’s mainly a pile of shite.

There’s some decent stuff on there for sure but I strongly believe that they should have fine-tuned it more. That 24 minute track, for example, is wholly unnecessary and would have been a far better song if it was around 8 minutes long. I think a lot of the songs could do with a couple of minutes shaving off but I guess they wanted to put it out as a raw piece of work.

I don’t think they’ll play any of these songs live and I think it is just a fun, experimental piece for them.

You've got to respect them for not staying in one lane for too long and constantly trying their hand at new things. It’s something they’ve always done. They’ll be a couple more EPs of totally different styles coming.

The two big stand outs for me were

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Ghosteen
Prince Daddy and the Hyena - Cosmic Thrill Seekers

Could do a more comprehensive list at a later time.

Glad to see some love for Prince Daddy! That album is excellent. I saw them on the co-headline tour with Oso Oso this year and they were the highlight of the night. So great live.

Albums of the year for me (some are EPs but releases in general)

1. SWMRS - Berkeley's on fire (I could just stop after this one as it's in a league of its own)

2. King 810 - Suicide King

3. Lil Peep - Everybody's Everything

4. IAMJAKEHILL - Solace PT.2

5. JUICEWRLD - Death Race For Love

6. Landon Cube - Orange

7. Yavid - Vol.3

8. Josh A/IAMJAKEHILL - Save our Souls

9. Post Malone - Hollywood's bleeding

10. Blink 182 - NINE

Can't imagine it's that universal on here but they're the ones that really stood out for me
