Went in to this just expecting more latter day Pumpkins and still left disappointed. Just by the numbers really, and the production on their later stuff really does bring Billy’s awful nasely voice to the forefront which is offputting from the get-go. Hope they don’t decide to muck up the set lists with this shite whenever they come to the UK.

Boy Azooga’s debut is outrageous. Can’t believe one young guy (I think it’s a Kevin Parker/Tame Impala mastermind type thing) has delivered such a high standard on his first go. What’s up with that?!

Johnny Marr has been trying to write Loner Boogie for years.

Really impressive stuff though, think his gig in the new Now Wave venue is a must (although having just read Dave Haslam's new book and Hookie's 2009 Hac book I'm extremely cautious of how good new anticipated venues are gonna be when opening ahah).

Matt Maltese's debut is delightful

Saw him on Tuesday, quite impressed.

But my loves The Rhythm Method supported, and their World Cup song, which they were born to do, is a belter!

(Video guest-starring Ellie & Theo from Wolf Alice, and Austin from Swim Deep)

Yes very good despite natural Welshness.

Mate how can you be about the Pumpkins but not fuck with WPC's nasal voice? That's like stanning Pearl Jam but thinking Eddie Vedder sounds like a foghorn or something. Or "love Neil Young's music but he sounds hella wimpy". Lol.

Song is okay. Like a fair bit of the post-reunion material it just plugs along without disappointing or impressing.

Catching up on some recent new releases. The Snail Mail album is incredible - totally digging that. Lykke Li's new album is also sounding pretty good on first listen although maybe not quite as good as her last one. Still got Jorja Smith and Melody's Echo Chamber's new'un lined up. Been some great albums coming out this year.
