Mad Cool 2018

Good News!

Line 8 of the Metro will open all night to ensure transport in the Mad Cool

Line 8 of the Metro will remain open all night during the Mad Cool celebration days . The Community of Madrid, the City Council of the capital and the organizers of the festival, which will take place on July 12, 13 and 14 on a plot in Valdebebas next to Ifema, have reached an agreement this Friday to guarantee the transportation of the 80,000 daily attendees who are expected to attend the event.

In addition, the EMT will enable a special bus line , whose head is about to be specified. The details of the mobility device will be known at a press conference to be convened next Tuesday.

The Community and the City Council will each pay 25% of the cost of transport reinforcement, while the promoters of the event will assume the remaining 50%. Only the special opening of the Metro for three days will involve a disbursement of 188,000 euros, according to a spokeswoman for the regional government.

Throughout the night, trains will circulate every five minutes between the stations of Feria de Madrid and Nuevos Ministerios, on Line 8. The forecast is that between 9,000 and 10,000 people can travel every hour using the suburban.

The authorization for the celebration of Mad Cool by the Consistory of Manuela Carmena before the reinforcement of the transport had been guaranteed had provoked this week the critics of Ángel Garrido's team , who called it "irresponsibility" . In a "cordial" meeting held this Friday at the request of the Minister of Transport, Rosalía Gonzalo, has been "a solution to the problem that had been generated," according to sources of the Regional Transport Consortium.

Good news indeed! It's still going to be busy, but hopefully this should spread everyone between the bus, metro and cabs.

Tame Impala is probably the biggest exclusive of Mad Cool Festival. This will be their first concert in 12 months. (Last one was the legendary Panorama NYC concert https://youtu.be/1p3JqUAetVM ) They only have a concert in the UK on the 15th and 4 concerts in the U.S. this year. They just posted this after 3 months. It looks like they are bringing their whole visual set to Mad Cool Festival as well.

Sorry if this has already been asked but anyone know if there are any restrictions with taking a bag on site? Assuming a normal rucksack will be ok?

And also taking bottles of water onsite? Assuming unopened 500ml bottles are fine?

Thanks

Where's everyone watching the game on Wednesday? :P

Probably at or around my hotel - we  are due to arrive at the airport at 7pm so we don't have much time! If we get through on Sunday I'll go to an Irish bar or something, it seems like they won't do a big screen as Spain aren't in it

Can you all answer this please?

I need to know which bars to avoid, and whether any bars will have Croats in attendance.

O'Connell St mate. There's gonna be 12 of us there. Girls and lads, gonna hit a karaoke bar afterwards if we win. here's the google maps link if you decide to come down on the day.

It's pretty big and there's big screens and a projector I think> it's near where we're staying so will pop in on Monday to  make sure it's gonna be on and will update here.

Jack Johnson was a guest in Pearl Jam's set in Rock Werchter and he sang Imagine with Eddie Vedder.

Eddie Vedder was a guest in Jack Johnson's set and he sang Constellations with Jack Johnson. They played the same song together back in 2007 Kokua Festival in Hawaii.

After these guest performances I really wished Jack Johnson was on Thursday instead of Saturday.

Hi,guys! I know it was answered earlier, but mb I've missed this part, could you recommend some good places, not very crowded, but with good kitchen/prices and it would be nice if you also recommend some sight which tourists have 2 see. (Most interesting in ur opinion)

Would really appreciate your help, pals ^^

Lazaretto on Azkena Rock Forum posted this yesterday:

(Google Translate) The map, with all the necessary information regarding accesses, etc. is already finished. It will come out in nothing, of course with enough time for all the people to organize before going to the festival.
