Not terribly surprising though. Still gonna be a while for the Antipodeans. We've got DMA's next month but surely that'll get moved too? They added an extra date to their tour a couple of days ago but I don't see how they can come over?

kingcrawler
Sounds like Johnny Marr isn't too happy about the Rick Astley/Blossoms covering The Smiths thing. Looking forward to him fighting "The Blossoms" next week when they're both playing the same gig.

As far as I could tell it's been a relatively recent thing, both the collaboration and the gig announcements, so there's a good chance it actually wasn't even happening yet when they were hanging out with Marr. The hand-wringing from Smiths nerds on social media about them ~desecrating the catalogue~ or whatever is hilarious. This is an extremely fun collaboration doing songs loads of people love, after a year of no gigs. I'm all for it, even as a Smiths fan. If they got the idea simply because they were hanging out with Johnny Marr, this is even funnier.

jump
Perhaps they didn't ask as they didn't need to because it really is a large-scale rickroll and they don't intend on playing any songs from The Smiths.
