lima
So excited for this festival.. we arrive a few days before it starts so we can do a bit of sight seeing etc.. just saw there that you can collect tour wristbands a day before the festival in a shopping centre.. can I ask is this worth a trip to do this or will it be ok and not too much of a long wait to retrieve your wristband at nos alive instead? Cheers
cc1989
Seen pearl jam at the o2 the other week and cant wait to see them again. Had tickets for the 2nd night but eddie got ill. chrislfc
David Byrne playing an outdoor gig in Cascais up the coast on the Wednesday if anyone's there for a few days before. About 40 mins on the train. 25 euro the cheapest tickets.

If i get there at a decent time on the Wednesday I might try and catch Stone Sour
amfy
On the information it says the beach is only 15 minutes from the festival site. Does anyone know: Is this on foot, by car or by public transport? What beach do they mean? Do many people head to the festival from a day on the beach? You can see it here: https://goo.gl/maps/rcPGv7i3Xms It's not an atlantic-ocean beach, it's "just" a beach of the river Tejo. If you want to attand a really nice beach take the train to Santo Amaro (it's the same as the one to the festivalsite) https://goo.gl/maps/bXgmdaBRuWy
amfy
@with_tired_eyes Thank you that's really helpful. We may well visit the river beach on festival days and the better beach on our other days.

If you want a day out on the beach post festival, go to Estoril on the train from Lisbon. Takes about 25-30 minutes but worth the journey. It's a Really nice beach, plenty of places to eat and bars along the front. There's Estoril Casino too, and then you can walk to Cascais which is a neighbouring town with plenty of places to eat and drink.

lima
Grab us that we are not going to the queues Have you noticed that we have the craze that wants to make life easier for you? Well, if you are one of the lucky ones with a 2 or 3 day pass for NOS Alive you can avoid the drought of the queues. As a little help from us, of course. Stop by our shopping center on July 11 and 12 and change your pass for the respective bracelet. It is at Alegro Alfragide, the only place in the country where you can do it quietly the day before, or in the room while you make fingers so that the concert delays a little of nothing until you have your bracelet. You know.

Standing beside a lad from Somerset who was also really enjoying them. Eels were brilliant as well
chrislfc
A few thoughts from the last 2 nights; only had the 2 day tickets. I’ve never seen so many people queue up to have their photo taken under a corporate logo before. Loads of VIP areas and the locals are lapping it up. Waiting to be photographed under a logo in exchange for a head scarf and such. Toilet situation a bit mad, no water or hand sanitiser at the urinals by the looks of it. The bogs by the Sagres stage particularly overcrowded and no stewards whereas the main stage toilets had plenty of supervision. Getting served not a problem but serious lack of soft drinks and water on offer. Sagres isn’t my fav lager either, much prefer SB over here. Strongbow cider ok but could do with a pint instead of a 25cl disguised as a 33cl. Apart from the sellers with back packs on I couldn’t find water at any bars. After 5 or 6 hours on the ale a nice bottle of water wouldn’t have gone amiss. Good main stage and I thought The National did themselves proud last night. Monkeys had a fairly subdued crowd i thought but then again I was stood near the back of the main arena. Some issues with sound from the main stage carrying over to the Sagres stage so unless you’re inside it gets messy. Thought Future Islands and Eels put a good shift in last night. Rag N Bone man seems like a thoroughly likeable chap too. Loads of smoking inside that Sagres stage though which made it a bit stuffy. Overall not a bad deal for your ticket price but I probably wouldn’t return. When you’ve been to Glastonbury so many times it makes you realise how well they do it and how much more other festivals could improve. That David Byrne gig in Cascais on the Wednesday was a much better set up and experience. I’d recommend that “jazz” festival to anyone.
StupidDream
Having a good time so far, post something more elaborate later on. Agree on the toilet situation. The block near Sagres is a laugh; also took me almost as long to get out as to get in. You really have to plan your visits. Indeed, have seen better festivals, but I/we might be spoiled a bit. Line-up wise it's great. Maybe they should account for some more change-over time. Eels probably one of the highlights for me. Was near the front for AM - too bad they bring some really annoying crowds with them. Young girls instagramming the shit out of it and some really pushy people who think they own the world. Not near the front yesterday at main stage, far more relaxed. Enjoy your last day, y'all!
themaddiefox
Agree on the annoying AM crowds. Saw girls fighting for the best spot front row. I’ll see how Mad Cool is going to be tonight. enjoy your day at NOS Alive today, guys!
