What have you done today to get ready for Glastonbury 2019?

I've gotten the Glastonbury stuff boxes out of the loft. Now to do a stock check and see what works, doesn't works etc and then I can do my list of any stuff that I need to buy. I'm hopeful that I won't need to buy too much.

Also, got some of my smaller clothes down and thanks to the fitness for Glastonbury drive I'm hopeful that I will fit into most of them.

Oh eeekkk., have you tried that Espresso Martini ? Please try it before you go if you haven't already , I've just chucked a load of cans from 2 years ago - just couldn;t stand it ? - maybe because I drink very rarely, but even the hardened drinkers in the gang didn;t like it ?

I hadn't clocked the Espresso Martinis in there until I saw this post. Those things are what I seem to default to when I'm drunk and can't drink any more beer. They absolutely ruin me so I know I shouldn't buy any but...

My blueberries in my vodka have gone white. Are they mouldy, or has the colour just drained out of them?? Need to buy some muslin cloth tomorrow to drain that out! And replace with more blueberries ?

the alcohol should act as a preserver ... they should be fine just to replace ...... i just used a coffee filter or a couple of jay clothes and squeezed the liquid through whilst discarding the squished fruit

Please try one first,  IMO they are not a good version of an espresso martini, but all tastes differ ?

I was beered out at Boomtown, and sick of tinned rum and coke. Do you know what shook me up? Hooch. Absolute nightmare of a drink too but it was a go to refresher!

This is a good shout actually! I can imagine a cold Hooch would be refresh’s g whilst still being alcoholic. I’ll see if I can grab myself a few cans. They can either be my drink to get my going again or my hair or the dog drink.

Got back from Bearded Theory - I thought I'd packed lightly but wore only about a quarter of my stuff so have rewritten my list for Glasto.

Looked into return options and thinking I'll probably take the advice given in another thread and get the shuttle to Castle Cary and return from there rather than get my 6 o'clock Taunton coach!  It also works out a little cheaper than returning from Taunton.  I just need to work out what the fare will be if I buy it on the day as the Anytime Single is a bit pricey but the cheaper one is only valid for a specified train and I won't be able to know which one that will be.  Splitting the ticket is cheaper than a straight through ticket too - why is working out a train price such a minefield?

I've bought some essentials today and the theme is COMPACT.

COMPACT folding chair
COMPACT sleeping bag
COMPACT inflatable mattress

I'm trying my best to pack light this year.

I also picked up some sexy waterproof hiking boots over the weekend. Need to break those badboys in over the next few weeks.

Waterproof? WATERPROOF?!

Won’t be needing any of that this year. We’re having clear skies for all 5 days... ;)

Started a detox! I’ve been drinking way too much recently and I want to have a much healthier three weeks before leaving for England. A period off the booze will help me feel much better about myself and put me in a good place to enjoy the festival.

Weldone you! So have I!
No booze now until Thurs 27th June, which coincidentally will be  a month from when I started!

Good Luck! Lets spur each other on!

If anything it'll boost our immune systems!

I always overpack. Please share the wisdom: what are you ditching / doing without?

Do you have a link for the mattress? My wife needs one as she has a bad back, but her current one is a bit bulky. COMPACT sounds the way forward!

I bought this one, due to price and ok reviews, and the inflating pillow.
I have no idea what it's going to be like. But it'll be better than sleeping on the ground, even if it only last a week.

Well I’ve started to get a little excited.

My wife and I currently don’t have tickets, but a friend who works in the industry has just told me there’s a 50/50 chance he can get us hospitality tickets.

So, after giving up all hope, I now have some!

I usually take too many jumpers/fleeces so I am taking only one thin, one thick (and maybe one medium) - they can be worn more than once.  Ditto trousers, one thin pair, one thick, one pair of shorts, couple of leggings that can be worn under these if it gets cold.  4 t-shirts - at least one can be worn twice.  No dress - I don't need it.  One RAB style puffer jacket thing and one pac a mac.  Socks, knickers, PJs, DMs, sandals and wellies.  Covers every eventuality.  Oh and festival hat of course.  Plus odds and sods, toileteries etc. and tent, light, torch, sleeping bag, liner, pillow and roll mat.  Plastic tankard and carabiners.  Job done I think.

Continued adding to the pile by buying snacks (crackers, cheese straws, flapjack bars, double decker bars for energy) and some 'frozen cocktail mixes' in foil sachets which you freeze in advance. Reckon I can use these as ice blocks to keep the rest of my cans cool on the first day and then drink them once defrosted :D Good old Aldi. I got pornstar martini and woo woo flavour and only 85p a sachet and 4% alcohol.

Today I have successfully procrastinated from my doctoral degree to wait for an announcement that clearly isn't coming just yet. I'm really good at this thing!

Snap.

Yesterday was worse though....a constant refresh of EFestivals even though most people weren't at work and the site was thus largely a barren waste land
