eFestivals is fund-raising

eFestivals has been here 20 years supporting festivals and festival goers. Without your support it will not continue as it has been.
Advertising used to pay the bills but advertising revenues are much less than they were.

Festivals: if you'd like us to continue to promote your event to our 650,000 monthly readers you'll need to give a helping hand.
Festival-Goers: if every visitor in just one day donated just £2, that would provide funding for a whole year.

You can donate or sign up for 'gold' (ad-free) membership, or you can contact the editor.

What have you done today to get ready for Glastonbury 2019?

Did some more work on my walking boots :). Now just trying to decide whether to fork out for some more leather paint to complete the rainbow or not.

Took delivery last week of my new festival shirt. Mrs C is not massively impressed, ‘no chance of losing you this year.......’ 😊

anyway I like it. It’s a football shirt but quite a different one. Clapton Community FC designed an away shirt to commeromate the Spanish Civil war and the Spanish Republic, and in particular the 2,500 men and women from the UK and Ireland who travelled to fight with the International Brigades, with more than 500 dying for the cause. They had massive demand and being a tiny community club were swamped. Apparantly they sold over 5000. Many to Spainish customers  it’s a great story.  I think the shirt is cool 🙈

Btw it’s not me in the photo

It was yesterday but wore my walking boots to work (work at a school), went on a trip to a country park and helped the students build dens, make fires and cook over the fire.

This is a 12 week course so should be fully ready to survive in the wild of Glastonbury by festival time.

I’ve tried to squeeze the syllables of this topic title to fit the tune of Proud by Heather Small. Not sure how that’ll come in handy for Glastonbury but nonetheless...

Bungee cords can be a mare. Ratchet straps or industrial cling film work well.

Clingfilm's all well and good (apart from the obvious single use plastic connotations) but wait until you're selected to be searched and it's all ripped off before you're through the gate.

Good point but it is easier to wrap up again in the disorganized state afterward than be calm and stack it for bungees. I agree about the plastic too, was wondering about that. But you do see a lot of peeps with stuff falling off everywhere as they hadn't realised how far and how rough it can be trekking in.

I use bungees and have never had a problem. You just need lots of them :)

There is always the danger you let go of one and take your eye out, but it's a risk I can live with.

So this eye injury, why did you wait five days to be seen?

Well it was like this...👁️🎯😄

Been clearing up the garage, finally sorting everything out after we did the Brecons madness back in Jan. So that's meant sorting, rebagging and taking stock of all my camping and fest gear. Bit excited.

Started the slow, emotionally draining process of accepting that my ability to walk is impaired, and might be even worse by June.

I ordered one of these today and I'll spend the rest of the day feeling sorry for myself and stuffing myself with chocolate until is gin-o-clock. Tomorrow I'll move on, will pimp-it-up with a bunch of led lights, and I will stay positive and hope this is all I'll need to bimble around the farm.

Started to look for sandals as option B. Scraped the 2016 mud off option A.

Hope you have a great time and that a dry sunny year makes it easier for you. Enjoy the chocolate.

No prep today but spent all of last week walking ridiculous amounts around Paris.  Nothing like a few blisters to get the feet up to scratch for the farm.

I just use burgees but this time I’m going to get a piece of cargo netting and use this with bungees. Nothing should slip out then; we somehow managed to lose a sleeping bag at IoW fest last year.
