I’m poppoing in to have a brew with Mr G tomorrow, then on to Pilton to stay with Dee and Digger and go round the farm with splodge and Mrs Splodge, then back up North for Hardwick Live, CIA Bath for lunch with a Bearded Theory mate.

I attatched my pop up to the front of my rucksack with karabiners so I’m hands free. Love a bit of tent porn tho! Whose playing at BD?

Nice, pass on all due regards!

Some good stuff on this year.  Looking at Suzanne Vega (not too fussed by Hives and my bro really wants to see her), Manics and Levs as the three headliners.  On the to see list I've got Slow Readers Club, Skinny Lister, Vintage Trouble, 3 Daft Monkeys (always!), 40 Shillings on the Drum, Shed Seven, British Sea Power, Gogol Bordello, Dreadzone, Dub Pistols and Jazzie B.

Also massively looking forward to introducing my brother to the unfettered joy that is Mik Artistik on a Sunday afternoon :)

Morning all :)

Sorry not been about very much recently (real life blah blah blah...) Very much looking forward to seeing @Curlygirl later today for a catch-up, and @Quark sometime over the weekend. I'll not have mead, I'm afraid, but you're welcome to try my range of flavoured spirits! Must admit, I'd been feeling a bit meh about Beautiful Days until yesterday. I think, having had such an awesome time at Bearded Theory in May, with Curlygirl and @paddyclark, among others, I'd started thinking that hopefully it would be good, but couldn't possibly be as good as Bearded was. Having spent yesterday packing, though, I've finally got some enthusiasm building  :)

Hope those who went to Boomtown had a great time, seen a few photos on FB, and it looked fab. Maybe I'll get there one year!

I'll cope G, I'll cope! I'll drop you some contact details and rough movement plans and we'll catch up once you know your shifts :)

Was in the same position about BDs, but I think that's just been down to having so much going on that I could only focus on the next immediate thing. Thankfully this is now the next immediate thing :yahoo:

Thanks @mr gumby, Boomtown was an experience to say the least...!

Just about recovered now!

Tell us all about Boomtown, the pictures looked incredible. I'd never really thought it as an option, for me, before but now I so so want to go, is it one for solo travellers,. I'd like to immerse myself fully and not be concerned by any travelling companions ... considering plucking up the courage for next year

Ok @Funkyfairy! but there is a lot to cover...

The set up and staging is simply astounding. It is like an expansive, interactive version of the Shangra-La but across the entire site. There is always something going on. There was an ongoing story that we spent a day heavily involved in: we had to dance for pirates; tell a yarn to earn a yarn; perform for Boomtown dollars and retrieve the deeds to the city from a cowboy. We couldn't take the game any further as aspects had closed for the evening. The actors work throughout the day and are always in character. You can interact with them as little or as much as you want - they're pretty good at judging your reaction.

Some of the small venues are amazing: Grandma's Living Room was a particular favourite (old couches, a back kitchen and a Grandma roaming around to drum and bass!). You can knock on doors and explore till your heart's content.

The bigger stages are breath taking in their set up and output. Occasionally, there was issues with sound but nothing major. Bang Hai was one major display of lights!

Musically, it is heavily dance orientated but there was enough diversity to keep me occupied and the aim of the festival seems to be one of exploration.

I met a few people who'd gone alone (there's a dedicated Camp Solo) and were loving it. The crowds seemed to be fine, although I did seem a little older than a lot of people! I had no issues with security or anyone all weekend to be fair, and everyone seemed concentrated on having a good time!

I would definitely recommend going at least once... just for the experience. I had a brilliant time, although musically it wasn't my usual choice.

I have attached a few random photos too, but the majority are on my 'festival phone'!

Even with that front door down and fully sealed there's enough space there for muddies.  Not quite a full porch area, but certainly enough space to put them between the inner and outer shells.

EDIT: If you're debating it, Blacks still have a sale on so this is now £65. They've got a 28 day return policy, so if you want to get the deal maybe order it now and leave it bagged up until you see the photos and get my road test review next week?

ooo perfect - absolutely perfect thanks

So we're gonna be on the tellybox tonight. :O Not sure if we're only on for a minute or not. No idea of the final edit or if we come across like idiots. Before you ask, no there was no swearing. Well not on camera. Sitting around drinking brews maybe, maybe a lot. But self restraint when the camera was on me. :D

All things being well looking forward to sharing a cider with @mr gumby and Michael's Denim Shorts at BDs this weekend!

Now I have seen the tent maybe I can spot you. Me and Mrs C are going to BD as well. Volunteering with Oxfam - is that who Mr G is with? Either way it would be nice to put a face to an avatar over a beer!

am looking forward to BD for first time. Hopefully the shifts work for us - alongside the usual suspects I am mad keen to see Richard Thompson. He played down the road for us recently, I missed him, and apparently it (he) was outstanding.

 Cheers
