What was making it so long? Very early this morning the checks were nothing to speak of and once the queue moved it was pretty fast paced. Such a long queue with heavy bags in temperatures like this sounds horrible. Hope you're all ok out there.

Utter shambles. We were given very little idea of how long the queue was going to be - the zigzags seemed to go on forever. Very little in the way of stewards telling us both big queues would join up etc. Not enough water being handed out. Got to the wristband bit after such an arduous few hours and they had a shortage of wristbands which meant what seemed like ages longer waiting and queues all over the place in front of assistants who didn't have any wristbands.

Found out later from talking to a pair of people they managed to waltz up the re-entry line (they were entering for the first time), completely miss the zigzags and have their first entry within 25 mins. Pretty dishonest on their part but this should have been closed - who knows how many entered through this route and slowed it down.

I appreciate the need for extra security but from what I read on here other gates (gate A at least) were considerably quicker. Was there an attempt to try and even things out and get some D people over to A?

Of course security is important, but so is the health of attendees. The possibility of a terror attack should be considered and increased security measures considered, but when these queues were clearly resulting in people having heatstroke and passing out it should have been scaled back. And the overall organisation of the queue left a lot to be desired.
