Highly doubt that at this point.

No idea on time-frames but I'd have thought they could have been nailed down in advance. Also cannot see a second sub-slot in a row for actual billed appearances - and given their prickly relationship with Download, not sure they'll be there either.

Tbf he may have been disagreeing on the "top-end act on both days" thing. What have BMTH done to warrant that? They're smaller than previous headliners like QOTSA and Paramore who weren't allowed to close both sites. Main act predicted for them to co-headline with is Twenty One Pilots who are bigger than them.

Fair enough, good point.

If BMTH play they headline in some capacity. R&L or Download.

Many ways this could go but the fact The 1975 have sold out their 2nd added 02 date complete...a Saturday admittingly but still and on top tier seating which is damn high at the 02 is all thats left on the 1st date they do it outright for me which is likely why it's been said they won't be at Glastonbury...unless I guess it's a secret unannounced set but in fairness they've sold out and are way bigger than any act they've got to co-headline and sub Glasto before.

BMTH haven't even sold out standing in one Ally Pally venue night let alone two, I just don't see how they will get above co-headline and the other would need to be a fair size so I'd go with TOP who I reckon would be happy to take that.

TTS last tour really was really their headline outright chance I think after the previous pushing then to sub.

Take your pick for the 3rd day, it's not my thing but I really could see them getting Post Malone back if he's free and sticking him under The 1975 with Drake the final headliner and using it sell appeal for both days.

Nah the Friday for BMTH at Ally Pally sold out a few days ago

Save it for the predictions thread, bozo.

That Kendrick/Arctics/Florence shout could've been what they were going for, I guess. What they ended up with clearly wasn't the first choice. I imagine it could end up changing all the same this time but someone who picked out the Killers for Latitude and Catfish for APE (ffs) probably knows a thing or two. We need to wait until @Dan Wilcox comes out of hibernation to corroborate it.

He also said that that trio was an educated guess and could easily be wrong (although weirdly later on said he'd been told they were the three headliners but it was a few weeks prior and could have changed since).

Everything he claimed as definite turned out to be true so I have no reason not to believe him this time around.

Would be weird that this year they didn't get any headliners booked until the new year and then for next year they're all booked by the 1st October.

Is your info that those headliners are tied down or just who they're after @festivalsaregood?

Nah it would be weird if they took so long again after how much of a mess this year was when it was announced.

Yeah fair I just mean like it's a weird upturn in events to go from such a mare to everything slotting into place so easily and so soon. Unless they're normally sorted by now and last year was just a complete shitshow, which tbf is probably the case seeing as we know other fests like Glasto have their headliners sorted this far in advance.

festivals pursue the bands they'd like to have. If they come in and quickly, then everything gets signed and sealed early.

If they don't come in quickly they might continue to pursue them or go after others - who might not come in quickly.

It's not something which happens to the same timescale year after year.

The bands that @festivalsaregood has referenced are acts that are likely to fall in place quickly for Fest Republic, so could easily be done this early.

Could Foals headline Latitude or a day at APE?

Foals weren't ever really in the mix for R+L again so soon, or APE seeing as they only played that park last year. Would still say IOW but something smaller is possible given how so many festivals seem to be punching above their weight nowadays.
