ok, so this year i am going to do my best not to carry everything and the kitchen sink with me. I have a terrible habit of overloading my bag, but have been suffering with a bad back recently.

do you guys make a list of what you carry day to day? anything that you cant forget?

thinking so far:

  • steel cup and water bottle
  • sunblock/lip balm
  • hand gel
  • paracetamol/ibuprofen
  • phone & small anker charger + cable
  • tissues
  • money & bank cards
  • thin jumper
  • program/map
  • hat/visor

what am i missing that you might consider essential?

Usually my bag is for carrying stuff for later in the evening so I don't have to go back to the tent and can in theory get a head start on any crowds heading for the same thing as me... So swap out thin jumper for a warmer one, Bag of wine for the evening, few cans for throughout the day.

i will probably be wearing a lightweight jacket, the thin jumper thing is a heat-tech thingy which works really well as extra layer, yep will prob add a poncho, and maybe a hipflask, though i try not to drink too much!

Would it ever be a bad thing to have a daily curry pie?

Makes me think of a hitherto unexplored niche of a football-style pie stand at Glastonbury.

A decent chicken balti pie could really hit the spot late lunchtime. B)

Next to the theatre + circus bar or the acoustic stage kind of area please, so I can have a decent pint paired with it

Daytime pack includes poncho, clashfinder, hand gel, money, sun cream and paracetamol (all tucked up in a new bumbag I got off amazon). I'll be wearing my cap and just tie my jumper around my waist when not in use. Then around early evening I'll make a tactical stop at the campsite and pick up the rum or hard liquor I've brought and my jacket, with everything else staying the same. Charge phone during the night when I'm sleeping, no need to take the bank out with me, too heavy

the charger i use is quite a compact one - battery on my phone isnt great and i like to take heaps of pictures.

not sure i could squeeze it all in a bum bag - not with the water bottle and steel pint cup for sure!
