Seeing conflicting info on whether the Edinburgh date is the 17th or the 18th....

Seetickets and Ticketmaster both have on the 18th.

I'm torn between London and Birmingham. For anyone who's been to both is one venue vastly better at all?

I listened to Lost in the Dream a lot around 2014/15 but haven't ever delved into them beyond that. I'm almost certainly just completely out of touch  but it seems mental to me that they're playing the O2?

LITD got them a lot of hype/acclaim which passed on to them playing arenas etc on the last tour, and tbh I think the lack of any real big ‘rock’ bands these days has done them a lot of favours and they’ve come out on top of a pretty empty market for all the dads out there. The fact that the other venues on the tour vary in size is a pretty good indicator that they’re not quite a big arena filler yet, but I think they’ll sell it pretty well.

Yeah they must be confident that the new record has a few bangers on there. You can see by the press they got with the album and tour announcement that theyve a bit of confidence/money behind them now.

They played the O2 in 2018 as well, I think it was the last gig touring A Deeper Understanding. I don't recall it selling out but I don't think it was a disaster either, it seemed to do pretty well. As FloorFiller says, Lost in the Dream build up a lot of hype and I think A Deeper Understanding being another great album helped them build on that further. It certainly seems like they're making a push to the next level with those dates but they haven't missed yet, so I'm pretty confident they'll do it.

Copped some standing Leeds. The intimate Birmingham is also very tempting but I will probably see them at Glasto which they seem to me pretty nailed for.

If it helps, it's not very intimate. It's a 4000 cap venue which isn't far off some UK arenas. 😛
