Am I the only person that isn't interested in seeing Macca?

I enjoyed his '04 set but I feel no need to repeat it.  Janelle Monae clash, please.

I’m not a massive fan but it would take something special for me to not be there.

Not gonna get many more chances to see one of The Beatles.

Macca's an absolutely huge booking for me.

Seeing him live is one of my top five all time gigs, and that was at a shite venue like Hampden. Getting to see him again on the farm has potential to be my favourite gig/Glastonbury moment.

Have I told you about when I saw him at the ICA (capacity 150 to 250ish?) in London in 2007? ??

Nope you are not alone. Unfortunately my daughter's current beatles phase will mean I am likely to have to see it. Unless I can swerve her from beatles between now and then. Have explained if he's there it won't all be beatles stuff, showed her the video posted on here where sounds rough, but to no avail so far.

Haha proper parenting, this! Love it.

My only hope at the moment would be a Michael Jackson resurrection, or queen playing on another stage. She seems to have a thing for dead artists currently!

That's a new 'phase' for me! Bohemian Rhapsody film is out in a few weeks, that should do it...

Peter Hook might be there doing his Ian Curtis impression. Plus they have the hippest t shirt in musicdom.

I don't know about "make her relevant again" to be honest. She's massive, and was massive before this film. Maybe to folk who weren't particularly bothered about her, or a population of some people on an internet forum.

Whether you don't know about it isn't really the point. You only have to look at the Tony Bennett thing, where Artpop left her after it came out a while....both that and Joanne took significant dips in her career even in the USA and she topped Coachella purely because they needed a Beyonce replacement.

What's an internet forum got to do with it?, opinions on here aren't of a lot of the outside world but don't get hung up on this because her sales records speak for themselves which are not determined by this forum. She isn't anywhere near the size she was off of Fame and Born this way....it's not even close....I don't dislike her..I'm actually one who wishes I got to her but won't pay then prices and as for stadiums....in the UK I doubt it.

I'm of the view point that if you like The Beatles then you should take every opportunity whilst you can to stand in a field and sing Beatles songs with an actual Beatle. And if that field is the Pyramid Field then all the better.

Ha, the t-shirt angle might swing it, as long as it comes in black. Trouble is she researches the hell out of whoever she listens to and you end up hearing fact after fact, and I know zilch about joy division (1 song I could name anyway). She becomes quite indignant with her friends when they can't name beatles or queen band members. Most 13 year olds wouldn't care I imagine. My other daughter is having a Madonna moment, which I can fully get behind.

I asked them about the 1975...didn't have a clue.

Even if it was ringo? Altogether now, we all live in a yellow submarine....

The fear of being in a crowd of people all singing yellow submarine at the top of their lungs is precisely why I'm hoping for a good clash! In fact, it doesn't even have be that good a clash!

Most of my crew will be in attendance without me though I'm sure, singing their little hearts out :)

In terms of timelines for announcements my guess would be:

The Cure - Within the next month, they’ve started announcing summer dates and there’s little reason for them to hold it back.

Macca - New year, let the fuss around his Christmas shows die down then announce around the Brits.

1975 - I reckon this one will drag on a bit. Could be in a situation similar to Metallica where they are announced for another festival and GF has to wait a while to announce. Early June.

I watched the footage of maccas last time at Glastonbury and the crowd wad so quite the whole set, kinda put me off any thought of going. Not a huge beatles fan to begin with but I thought more people would be singing

Not sure if this share thing works, if all you're seeing below is nonsense, I'm busy editing it.

Looks more like a Bon Iver setlist that ?
