My take, going purely by what we know in terms of Neil's info, Macca's dates, the BST rumour and Emily's comments, is that they were at the very least talking to him and probably got as far as making an offer. Maybe the Eavii were hopeful/confident that it would be accepted but for whatever reason he didn't. Maybe Vegas made a better offer, maybe he simply didn't fancy coming back over here for a gig or two over two weeks and preferred to stay in the US all summer.

This makes perfect sense combined with the interview with Emily (with Lauren) saying that an act(s) were maybe holding out for the 50th. Fingers crossed.

So, with regards to potential headliners The Stokes - did Albert Hammond Jr’s Dad write The Air That You Breathe - made famous by the Hollies? Or is that total bullshit?

He did, in fact he wrote loads of hits for other artists as well as for himself. His ‘Free Electric Band’, is a real banger.

It's getting far too quiet in this thread considering third headliner is still pretty wide open. I'm still hoping the second is too, although I appreciate I'm clutching. Stormzy though! Ahem. I won't be there I don't think, but glad he's being given the opportunity.

Emily, Michael. I can happily be elsewhere. But please don't let it be The Cure. And please don't let it be The Strokes.

Well as no-one has any better ideas...

Keane are getting back together:

and according to the Portuguese press, headlining MEO Mares Vivas in early July:

So... ‘summer live dates’ then...

    • When does the Thursday lineup get announced? I see they had Moonchild Sanelly and Young Knives last year, would be cool to get something along those lines again.
    • Where did you see this?
    • No idea how it'll work in a festival setting but really enjoying Prewn at the moment.
    • Lineup announced, with the dates having been pushed back to 12th and 13th September. Tickets on sale tomorrow 8:30am.   12th September Chaka Khan Jack Savoretti Lulu Emeli Sande Texas ABC The Script   13th September Simple Minds Deacon Blue Level 42 Appleton Blue James Blunt Cast   I think it’s a pretty weak lineup compared to previous years to be honest - and think it’s quite lazy they’ve gone down the Scottish route so much (not sure Simple Minds would be classed as a headliner elsewhere in the UK).
