2019 Headliners

We spend a lot of time discussing who will be on the Pyramid whilst saying we'd rather be somewhere else. Anyhoo, I've yet to see a Pyramid headliner for more than 2 songs before I dash to something infinitely more interesting dahling.

I'm still on the Gaga train. I'm a huge convert, I used to loathe her but I just think she's the bee's knees now. So please be Gaga.

(I still and forever more will utterly loathe Paloma Faith with every inch of my hatred)

EXACTLY. It's the perfect time for an epic surprise headline set. The precise time the entire world has given up all hope.

There was a glimmer of hope a few years back when Neil mentioned he’d heard a Daft Punk rumour.

Said rumour was quashed pretty sharpish though and the dream remained a dream.

Anyway can’t be them this year as I don’t have a ticket.

Swedge's current list of "realistic" Pyramid headliner preference order;

1. Stevie Wonder

2. Fleetwood Mac

3. Madonna

4. The Strokes

5. Lady Gaga

6. The Killers

7. Kings of Leon

8. Mumford & Sons

9. Pablo Honey

On my list Pablo Honey moves up to a solid five.

And that sums up the joy of this forum. The headliner thread is now over 700 posts and yet the majority of folks on these boards are more than happy to be elsewhere. Is it time resurrect that 'how many pyramid headliners have you seen' thread?

If it’s her, they should put her fee on the screens as a countdown that starts the second her set begins. It’ll give people something to be interested in when she plays anything from 2000 onwards.

I...

Agree.

Madge would be great, given her relatively low profile of late what better place to relaunch your career with a two hour trip down memory lane in front of millions who you can slip a new tune or two out too.

As much fun as this would be, I just don't believe it will happen.

Did Masterpiece the time I saw her.

Love that one.  A highlight from her much criticised post-2000 output.

Was that the MDNA tour?  I went to that and remember her doing Masterpiece followed by a cracking version of La Isla Bonita.

    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
    • I could see Muse doing BST, Lytham Festival and the one in Cardiff next year.
