2019 Headliners

Mumfords will always sell arenas, because there's a big crop of people who listen to about 5 albums in their entire life who love them and will go to see them, but they'll never be relevant enough to headline Glastonbury again.

Mumfords are great live imo but I’ve seen them enough times and would prefer someone else headline over them for a while.

Would love their Gentlemen Of The Road stage to come back though. Has a blast the few times I went there seeing Haim & various others jamming out.

The Cure, Macca, Stormzy I'd say. Arctics, The 1975 and Kendrick also milling about.

This is rubbish though. If they had to pick a headliner out of Mumford & Sons and Stormzy, the one they go with is pretty obvious.

Could be anytime. Last time Radiohead were confirmed in October, the year before none of them until February. I guess it depends on the act, and whether they have tickets for their own concerts to shift etc

Yah yah but people seem to think a substantially risky booking like Stormzy is gonna happen on the basis that he is relevant.

Anyway, seeing as it's the first year they could reasonably be booked again, they could quite easily have approached the festival they usually go to and say "hey can we play again?". And they're still big enough that the festival is really unlikely to knock them back. as opposed to adding them to cart and checking out immediately.

Again, I think they'll play elsewhere but all the "never happening" shouts is like when we all let our guards down about Brexit and then we all got hurt and have to deal with a national disaster, as the second Mumfords headline set would be.

Anyway I hope considering theres been a fallow we will have some "early announcements"

Year of birth haha from the uk too. Two of my favourite contemporary artist's are Gary Clark Jr and Markus King if that shines a bit of light on why I didnt know.
