I would sacrifice a slightly wet fri, sat and sun for a scorchio Weds and thurs.

I'll be taking the same things whatever the forecast: footwear for dry weather, footwear for wet weather, waterproof and sun cream. I'm not sure what else weather specific you need?

i think im changing my footwear from wellies & walking boots to walking boots and sandals.  not sure whether trainers as a halfway house is really necessary as well?

Definitely,at least for Tues/Weds/Thurs, maybe a factor 15-20 after that. Gingers, factor 50 all the way.
