Doesn’t Have To Be That Way definitely should’ve made the album instead of being relegated to a bonus track imo. One of, if not the best faster paced tracks on there.

Thought this would be a ‘one listen and then forgotten about entirely’ kind of album for me tbh but I can see this getting a fair few listens from me (and then forgetting about it entirely).

More than pretty decent, my friend.

I know what you mean by the bonus tracks though. Especially, Doesn't Have To Be That Way, which is the possibly most anti-Gallagher track ever (until Noel's album comes out hopefully ;))

It has been worth the wait for me, anyway

Yeah, that one has to be my favorite so far. Also I Never Wanna Be Like You sounds like an album closer and has that great violin ending

Pitchfork have a weird things with big British acts who aren’t Radiohead in that they seem to underscore them constantly. This album is by no means a masterpiece but that scores pretty harsh, although as said above, if you know Pitchfork you could’ve seen it coming a mile off.

I thought he didn't souund great on Jools but he seems to be getting praise from all sides. I'll give the album a listen when it comes out but I'm not expecting my mind to be blown. I think Noel's forthcoming album will be more interesting.

First listen.....

Starts off well - Wall of Glass is a good tune. Liked that from the first time I heard it. A proper Rock n Roll single.

Bold - definitely about Noel, mentions "chasing yesterday". Another tune I like... this album could be a good un.

Greedy Soul - Its alright, but trying to pack a punch that it just doesn't have. All mouth.

Paper Crown - I can't say I hate it. He has come a long way since little james, but its a poor Beatles B Side.

For What its Worth - Cheese, heard it a million times, I moan about this kind of tune a lot, but I sadly I can't say I don't like it. In fact, I really do.

When Im in need - Nah, not for me. Absolute filler.

You Better Run - Paint by numbers, old fashioned Rock n Roll. I like it.

I get By - Filler, but from a vocal point of view, liams strongest tune so far. One to skip, but certainly not that bad. I expected this album to be a lot worse.

Chinatown - Feels out of place to me. I can't say Im the keen on this. Chorus is alright, but I feel its overly produced a bit of a "try hard".

Come Back to Me - Primal Scream anyone? I like this. This is what he should be doing for me. 2nd best tune so far after Wall of Glass.

Universal Gleam - Another ballad. Another filler. Not keen.

Ive all I need - Filler... another Beatles reference in it. I think thats 3 or 4. He should stop with it.

Doesnt have to be that way - I like it. Should have heard more of this kind of thing in the album.

All my people -  Meh. Not keen.

I never want to be like you - Beatles in the extreme, but I like the lyrics. Will be seen as a pop at Noel. I like this.

3/5 from me. High points, Wall of Glass - For What it's worth & Come Back to Me.

Low Points - When Im in Need & All my people

    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
    • Has Glastonbury already got council permission for that 5 year run?
    • This keeps being mentionned but it only happened because Dua's Europe Tour was rescheduled due to Covid. Dua's arena show was initially planned for October 2021 but got rescheduled to May 2022 a month after the PS2022 lineup was announced.   I hope Massive Attack and Doja get to come back. I guess it'll depend whether they have a summer tour planned next year.
    • Solo album on the way for the singer of a certain band.  Il leave the name of the act out and see if anyone listening can guess....  its er rather obvious lol
