SERRIDGER
Well We can rule out Kings of Leon. They have been signed as an exclusive to BST. Is Adele a possibility, doing 2 Wembley Stadium gigs a few weeks after?
Gozpot
IoW couldn't afford Adele and I doubt she sees it as prestigious enough for her.

IOW booked Fleetwood Mac on a world exclusive for approximately 700 hundred billion pounds last year. If any festival could afford her it'd be IOW. Not so sure about that considering the festival was nearly cancelled over the £40k fee for the land, problem was solved by whacking £50 on the cost of a camper van ticket. Space_Dementia
I'm in a bit of a dilemma... I really want to go for the Saturday just for Arcade Fire, but have no idea how i'm going to get back into Southampton, does anyone know what time the ferries stop crossing back over in the night? I would stay in the Travelodge but their charging £200+ for one night!!

Smeble
more bands just announced, nothing overly exciting but positive from the point of view that it may go ahead. surely kaiser chiefs( love them or hate them) would be a better Friday headliner than run DMC though, would be a bigger draw for selling tickets. Circus-Freak
Kaiser Chiefs were headline material perhaps 8 years ago, but not now. Theyve got it right with RunDMC on Friday, they appeal to so many.

They did actually headline IOW in 2008, although I'm gonna put that down to them spending all their money on The Police that same year

They were much better than Franz at Leeds subbing 06 tbf and KOL subbing in 09 at Reading. Ignore everything after the angry mob album and they are okay for a bit of fun. dentalplan
I see that Isle of Wight have responded quickly to keep R+L from taking their crown as the worst line up thinkable.
sisco
Still don't get what the bookers are thinking. The lineup would have been better to throw together CATBM and Bastille as co-headers on Friday, Arcade Fire on Saturday and even if they still had Rod they could of fucked off Guetta/Run dMC and spend the money on a much better undercard
thewayiam
So Catfish, KC and Bastille are going to be the subs by the looks of it. Although overall the lineup is bad, most festivals it's size would have two of them in contention to sub nowadays.

It would just be said that it's weak because Catfish and Bastille are headlining. If they replaced those two with subs stronger than Run-DMC and David Guetta then possibly... but you know they won't be. It looked fucked before we even knew who the Friday headliners were - the identity of those are pretty irrelevant.
Smeble
Is anyone commenting on how bad the lineup is actually going? This isn't meant as a dig, I'm just wondering.

Oh it's fucked but I think they would have got more credit pushing CATBM especially upto header and spending the big money they've no doubt paid Run DMC and Guetta on better subs

Something like: David Guetta, Run DMC, Clean Bandit Arcade Fire, Bastille, George Ezra Rod Stewart, CATBM, Kaisers Wonderful hey.....
