Fantastic Drone Coverage Pre-Fest

This has got to be one of the best ever pre-fest overhead shots ever.

Looks like most of the large venues are up, maybe missing a few small ones. All the market stalls are missing. I've never seen the site looking so pristine with lots of lush green grass.

 

Mind you the ground looks sodden underfoot

Nice way to orientate yourself a little prior to arriving at site. Shows how much further up the Peel stage will be.

And based on the weather it's a bloody good job it's been moved up out of that dip.

the one behind west holts ? That's the Cabaret tent, it was alway pretty huge.

Yeah, it was an oval tent previously though, right?  I haven't actually visited since 2013 so might have missed it being a previous change, didn't notice anything when I was in the vicinity last year (but was a little drunk).

Sounded confident in my initial statement, I'm really not sure now, struggling to visualise what it looked like. There will be some other tents/act that mean from ground level you don't see at least half of side that runs down to Bellas bridge.

Yeah, testament to the video that it is disorienting at times as well (used to there being a sea of tents making pathways more clear and traders lined up, etc).  I'm not sure it IS new, but I don't recall it being like that before.  Definitely a large red oval tent as recently as 2013.

First time was 2013, I remember it always being square, though not sure even I trust my memories... Map from 2013 seems to agree though, shows a rectangular tent.

This is a photo from 2013, can't find much before then, but she's square in 2013. Years all merged into one, doesn't help it's a tent I visit once or twice normally as a quick pit stop or gap filler. But agree on visualising on the old shape.

Anyone else a bit worried that on big nights it's going to be a bit of a squeeze in and out of the field?

I'm guessing they've just got all the sides up because of the weather, come the day most of one side will be completely opened up

I'm trying to visualise the south east corner. Maybe it's all the people that makes it feel bigger but the south east corner from above looks tiny.
