As things are looking a bit damp for the weekend I thought i'd start a thread.

Important to remember to  keep it LOW

1)low speed

2)low revs

but in a high gear!

If you slide steer into the slide and pump the breaks (no diffent to on ice)

anyone be with any other advice feel free to add

Low tyre pressures help

and if you get really stuck try getting yourself free on your starter motor, switch the engine off, put the car in 2nd and with the clutch up, turn the key, this will make the starter motor turn the engine over without starting it, may just be enough to get you unstuck, but it will run your battery down very quickly.

i used this method to get my car out of flood water I had driven into.

locate your towing eye before you leave for the festival, some cars have a fixed one, some have one in the toolkit you screw into a hole behind the grille or under the bumper, have it ready to use before you leave home.

This is excellent advice my car has a screw in towing eye that lives in a compartment under the boot, I always relocate it to the the glovebox before a festival as the last thing you want to do is empty the whole boot in the event you need to be towed out.

We got stuck in heavy mud at green man and I had to try and push us out a midnight, 8 months pregnant. Luckily some people took pity on us and helped before I ended up giving birth in a muddy carpark in Wales. Took about an hour though.

Luckily all this mud is going to dry out isn't it?
