I've always been correct on my opinion of At The Drive In, absolute shit besides One Armed Scissor. I’m very glad they won’t be playing next year.

Have you ever heard Invalid Litter Dept or Napoleon Solo?

I’ve heard a few songs on Spotify, I’m not sure about either of those I’ll have a listen. But in terms of live anyway, One Armed Scissor was okay but the rest was just a shitstorm of instrumemts that sounded like one song and you couldn’t even hear th vocals.

Right so what I’ve learned from the Royal Blood gig tonight:

Black Honey NEED to be somewhere on the undercard they’re brilliant.

If Royal Blood were to headline I’d definitely watch them again, they were really great and could definitely put on a good headliner or co-head performance.

Everyone's been saying ATDI have been shite live lately. On record they're an amazing band, Relationship of Command is a ridiculously good album.

Considering as soon as they’d finished someone behind shouted something along the lines of Oh my fucking god thank fuck that’s over I’d rather have my dad toss me off for that long than go through that again that wasn’t half an hour of music it sounded like one song

But honestly, all I heard everyone talking about after was how you couldn’t hear what he was saying and they just sounded a bit shit in general.

Well yeah like I said, apparently they're shite live at the moment, but that doesn't mean they're a shit band in general. Even people on here who love them on record have said they were terrible both at R&L last year and supporting Royal Blood this year.

No of course not, I always kinda thought they were “okay” and that’s always what I went with but seeing them live kinda brought them down a lot in my books. Like if I had absolutely loved them then I’d probably still like them but since I only ever thought they were average in the first place, can’t help thinking they’re just not even that for me anymore.

I think they're one of those bands where you probably need to know the songs to enjoy it live. Jay you've said it just sounded like noise cos there was too much going on, I guess if you'd recognised all the different bits of the songs it would have sounded fine. I dunno, maybe not. I thought they were great anyway and so did the two people I was with.

I thought the run of Enfilade - Governed By Contagions - One Armed Scissor they finished on in Cardiff (and presumably everywhere else too) was great, but I agree that the sound quality was pretty bad, particularly before those three songs, and was just a noise at times. Don't know how much of it is down to them being on poor form, their sound not being suited to arenas, and them being a support act so everything was set up for Royal Blood and not them. Plus Motorpoint has been shit for sound even for some headline acts I've seen before (The Prodigy springs to mind, was distorted as hell).

Still love them though. Agree with those saying not to judge them based on their performances on this tour, stick Relationship Of Command and the highlights from their other stuff on and you should come round to them, they're a top band.

Don't wanna read to much into it but they keep tweeting Drake stuff, almost turning in to a fan account. It is a bit weird to keep on sharing stuff on your social media of someone who's never played the festival before right?? They could still be clinging on to the hype he got at reading for 5 minutes this year or it actually come to fruition that he's next years plan.

ATDI supporting Royal Blood was never a good idea. Should have had Frank Carter or someone

TBH if I hadn't gone to the Roundhouse too see them...which is a shite venue tbh and didn't see RB at Glastonbury then I'd have gone, I don't agree that ATDI are just a one song act but in general it's not the greatest idea for a support act....but nor is Frank Carter either.

Paramore, FF and Drake would sell.

Hard to say whether their tweets are alluding to something or not. However, Drake would be a big act for them to get, and if they could I have no doubt they'd book him. Could easily change Kendrick to Drake in all these predictions.

I think Frank Carters the perfect support act for any meat and potatoes rock band, such an incredible performer and you don't need to know his tunes, I don't particularly like him on record but I'll see him live whenever possible.

I'd say the likes of Mumfords and Snow Patrol fit into that category. They can all do one

Saw Royal Blood in Birmingham last night as well. Black Honey were good, I think they'll be on the FR stage somewhere next year. As a fan of At The Drive In I can honestly say it was one of the worst things I've ever fucking seen, I know quite a few songs and the only one I could even sort of make out was One Armed Scissor, they could have been playing anything and the sound was shite. It was my third time seeing Royal Blood and they get better every time, at this point they deserve at least a co-headline slot.

I did notice Royal Blood are currently touring with the same sort of stage set up as Foo Fighters in America except royal blood have all the lasers. Makes me think they'd be much better in the dark.

I literally couldn’t agree more about last night mate, like I said I’m not a massive fan of ATDI and I thought they were shit. Honey blood were really really good. If Royal Blood don’t get atleast Co-head next year then I’ll be really really shocked.

And if they have Drake rather than Kendrick or Kanye they can piss off.

I can't see why they'd book Drake when he would be such a good booking for the new V fest, and then they can get an act that suits R+L better like Kendrick of Kanye

Black Honey played FR this year, they were excellent. Matey I was with thought they were the highlight of his weekend! Think if they're booked again they'd step up a slot, maybe mid-afternoon NME like The Sherlocks this year

At The Drive-In are great on record. Even though they seem shit live now it shouldn't stop you from listening to them. Relationship of Command is a classic and is really worth a listen.
