It rained a lot more than that on the Friday. If I remember it had been raining a bit on and off the morning and early afternoon, then pissed it down for a good few hours the afternoon (it was raining when we left Duke Special at 5pm, we walked all the way to Strummerville for Frank Turner, and it rained all then, and through that entire set).

My thinking now is the same as my thinking a year ago. We're talking localised showers, so we could dodge the bullet completely and have a dry one, or we could be unlucky and get some persistent rain. Chances are, there will be some showers.

last year Wednesday and Thursday were glorious sun.

Friday it bucketed down around 3pm for about 30mins, then heavy showers on-off up until 7pm. nice for the evening then.

Saturday was glorious sun.

some showers on Sunday morning, mostly when people were still in bed. all gone by midday. sun with some nasty looking clouds for the rest of the day.

I'm not sure we can be confident enough of the forecasts at this stage to go Full Benitez

Full Benitez is a bad thing. Hes a berk and that rant was an embarrassment for all concerned.

If you see this, it means rain.

French women mean sun.

My feelings about your dire predictions make me feel like this (the worry is that he lost)

Since a few on this thread agree with you about the length of time it rained Friday, mix this with the fact I was well and truly "cooking" at that stage so will have been on beer time i'm happy to accept defeat and say it wasn't an hour.

Me and the wife retreated to a bar near the other while Catfish and the bottlemen and (I think) the vaccines were on. It was definitely raining then.

We moved round to the pyramid though for the Libertines and it was definitely sunny then B)

Mary J Blige, 16:45-17:45 was soaking. Probably same time as Catfish I suspect.

Mary J was after. We sacked off Catfish to try and get some food indoors in the hope that the rain would stop in time for the Blige. It did for a little while, but the heavens opened (or so it felt) towards the end of her set. It seemed fine by the evening though.

The BBC still seem set on it being pretty much dry.

That lot from Norway on the other hand seem to think it will be wet.

I like Auntie Beeb lots.

They don't disagree.

The BBC and the Norwegians have good conditions until Wednesday, then the BBC/Met Office stops. The Norwegians carry on with rain on Thursday, a few showers and rain on Friday night (which I wouldn't worry about).

BBC doesn't stop, just click on 'further ahead': http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ba4. Goes through to Saturday. Dry from Monday on.

Metcheck also changed to only show rain on Thursday morning. I won't express that tides may be changing until the Norwegians are on side

I bought a water proof jacket and pants last week after a sudden downturn in forcasts, and then it got better.

Last night after the metcheck forcast I bought a poncho and waterproof hat. Just got out of bed and it has improved again.

Maybe Decathlon and Go Ourdoors have shares in Metcheck and Accuweather.

Still have the sun on Pilton and BA4.

I'm only seeing it on the Saturday now though. It was sunny spells on all days of the festival earlier.

The BBC seem to have mislaid their little sun symbol now. Please find it ASAP and return it to the week's forecast Beeb!

They've got sun on the Saturday. If the Beeb are right we'll all be very happy

Any chance you could pop out and buy a wetsuit today easty?

One of these might seem expensive, but you'll make a few hundred thousand people happy (and you're actually saving £100)

    • The weather we have had whee i am in the last week or so has been.....  All the weather types in random order, wildly changing hour by hour.  Yesterday we had some beautiful semi warm sunshine - and also torrential downpours...   In summary - inconsistent
    • Warmduscher at ATN a couple of years back wins that one for me (or Christy Moore at Feile 92!). It wasn’t cold or windy though, so less unpleasant than it might have been. Hopefully it’ll stay dry for Nick Cave tomorrow!
    • Yeah.   Revisit in 2 weeks, then 👀
